Monroe Inn

We stayed at the Monroe Inn Utah in May and enjoyed the place to the fullest! The room was a gem (top floor) and the breakfast (and dinner) at Aces place was really good! The room was very clean and the beds were perfect, we had 2 good nights of sleep. The owners are really helpfull and Ace is the best, he made us a very nice dinner and a great breakfast. If you have the chance, go book the Inn! Or if you pass through Monroe go and eat at Aces place!

Adequate accommodation, but nothing special. I’m not sure why it’s an inn. There’s a separate entrance for multiple rooms, no common areas to share, no personal contact with an innkeeper, and no food. Our room had 1 small bedside lamp, and 4 bright ceiling can lights, with no dimmer. There was almost no furniture to put down personal items, and 1 uncomfortable chair. There were no bedside plugs for phones. The bathroom had a pedestal sink with nowhere to put down toiletries. An old straight shower rod and cheap plastic curtain clung to your body as you showered. Yuck! All in all, adequate but undistinguished, and not set up with comfort in mind.

The host was friendly and excellent with communication, the space was clean and comfortable, while shining with character. Easy access to free natural hot springs, plenty of extra “hot springs towels” we didn’t have to worry about getting dirty, and the TASTIEST of breakfasts brought to our room at the time we specified the next morning made this a place we definitely want to return to. As a queer couple visiting a small town, there’s always some trepidation about how we’ll be received. Monroe Inn and the hot springs we visited were both warm and welcoming, with no bad vibes.

I booked a room here through an online service the morning of my intended stay. Somehow the reservation went into the system for the following night. When I checked into the property, I was greeted and directed to my room. At 10:30 pm, I was thrown out of my room and innformed my reservation was for the following day. They offered no help as to locating another stay anywhere. As an older woman traveling alone, I felt my safety was disregarded completely. I had to find and purchase a second hotel room for that evening. I requested they at least give me a discount for a booking the following week, but they refused to do so. I am well traveled and have never experienced such inconsiderate behavior.

What an unexpected delight! We stayed in the suite, which provided a full kitchen, laundry facilities, bedroom, and living area. It was a perfect respite after sightseeing and hiking. And the breakfast? Absolutely delicious! The eggs Benedict was divine and my husband loved the Purgatory. Also, the Inn has a lovely lawn area to enjoy. I would definitely come back!!

Nothing to write home about. Clean but very uncomfortable. Offered bed and breakfast service but woke up to what felt like a poor excuse as to why they could not serve us. Hopes up...let down. Overall all, I felt they oversell and under deliver.
