Wild Glamping Gal Oya - Thema Collection

This was the highlight of our trip, we loved the atmosphere, the location and the staff were wonderful. The two safaris were just amazing, Udara our guide was incredibly knowledgable and couldn’t do enough for us. The dining experience was made all that more special, knowing the produce was organically grown on site. The accommodation was fantastic everything you could want. Highly recommend, would love to revisit.

Absolutely stunning in all ways. The ‘tents’ are beautiful and palatial; the staff super friendly, helpful and efficient; the excursions run by the naturalists were wonderful, with very knowledgable and considerate guides; and the food was out of this world. The traditional ‘curry and rice’ included EIGHT delicious side dishes. Just wonderful! Thoroughly recommend.

Eine sehr schön angelegte Anlage mit einem tollen Pool. Von einer wunderschönen Natur umgeben. Die Zelte waren sauber und hübsch eingerichtet. Das Personal war immer freundlich. Leider musste ich nach nur einer Nacht weiter reisen. Würde jederzeit wieder kommen.

This is a beautiful place with a fantastic location. The tents are very good and contain everything you need. The staff were all excellent and the grounds and farm are great places to walk around. I nearly gave this a five star but a couple of points set it back. The number of tents has expanded quite a bit since the original pictures, including those on the website. This means that the restaurant and bar area got quite crowded and there were insufficient seats at the bar for the number of guests (probably not helped by two quite large coach parties). The hotel transport also doesn't seem to have kept pace with the expansion which meant we and another couple had to use our drivers to take us to the boat safari. This would have been OK but other guests were on the hotel transport which clearly stopped quite a bit on the way there, so we had to wait an hour for the others to arrive.

Wir hatten hier drei Übernachtungen, aber beim nächsten Mal würden wir gerne länger bleiben. Das Zeltcamp ist schön in der Natur gelegen und die Zelte sind komfortabel eingerichtet. Das Außenbad ist nicht nur stylisch, sondern auch funktional. Das Essen war immer sehr lecker und das Personal ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. WIFI gibt es nicht, aber der Handyempfang reicht für Textnachrichten und kleinere Bilddateien. Die Wanderung mit dem Veddha, einem Ureinwohner Sri Lankas war interessant und hat Einblick in deren Kultur gegeben. Auch die Bootsfahrt auf dem Sennayaka-Sumudra-Stausee ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Sadly we only stayed here for 2 nights but what an amazing place. Its remote location means no phone service or internet which is great as you can really enjoy the peaceful surrounds without interruption. There's a small bar and restaurant area which overlooks the central pool where there are a number of loungers to relax if you have any down time in between activities. The tents are amazing with everything you need with a spacious outdoor bathroom that fits in well with the self sufficient ethos of the place (the bucket shower head was a nice touch). We stayed in no.17 which was away from the main building but had a great view from the patio area. The site has a small farm which grows all the produce used at the restaurant and has a number of paths you can wonder around as there are plenty of birds to see here. We did a morning jeep safari which was great with a riverside picnic for breakfast (thanks NavinduThilakasiri for the perfect location) followed by a boat safari late in the afternoon. The food here is amazing and plentiful, the staff are great too - always happy and always willing to help. We were sad to leave here as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend it.
