Theophano Art Hotel

The hostess was very unprofessional and aggressive with the people who book the “cheaper rooms”. She claimed that our room has a garden and when we went there was no garden at all. She gave us a room (Ariana) that was supposed for 2 people but it was literally for 1 person. It was not of the one that the photos were on the booking. It didn’t have any space to put our things. The mattress and the pillows were very bad quality. The air conditioner didn’t work properly neither the fridge. She did something and she changed the setting and she claimed that we did something wrong and we didn’t know how to use it. The temperature was 35 degree. When we made complaints and kindly we requested to her to check it , she started being aggressive, shouting and screaming to us while talking to her with calm voice. We packed our things and she said that the bootle with the water in the fridge was her. We didn’t touch it. STAY AWAY.

We had the worst experience as guests to this hotel. The hostess is rude and aggressive. She totally misleads us by giving a very tiny and claustrophobic room (Arianna) which was NOT in the website nor at Booking photos. The mattress was terrible and the pillows very old and uncomfortable. Although it was supposed to be a room for two, it was so small that didn't accommodate two people, with no place to put our stuff. But the worst of all is that the air conditioned didn’t work well during heatwave and first (and only night) we stayed there we couldn’t sleep at all because of the extreme heat. When we mention that to the hostess she tried to blame us that we “don’t know how to use the air condition” and she insisted that it worked fine although in our room it had 33 degress in the night! So we packed our stuff and leave the hotel immediately after her reaction, because we believe that she adjusted air condition to work like that just to save energy! In Conclusion we stayed there for one torturous night in extreme heat and next day we leave the place to find a normal place to stay with normal cooling system. Ι believe people with this unprofessional behavior destroy the experience such a beautifull place has to offer. I have never experienced before such an indiscriminate behavior, with so many lies and display of bad rooms that presented as "museums". Hostess behaves as if we were living in her house and not as if we were her hosts. I would not suggest anyone to go there, it is an accommodation well located, but with such a behavior from the owner which prevents you from enjoying your staying there. Avoid this hotel at all costs. it has no services and no proper policy towards the customer.

We had a pleasant stay at Erophili apartment, the room is gorgeous with rooftop which sees the sea and the old town! It was very clean, aesthetic and peaceful. The location of the apartment is in the center of the castle in Monemvasia. The owner is really helpful and sweet. Highly recomended!!

Ένα φανταστικό ξενοδοχείο με αυτόνομα πέτρινα σπιτάκια. Καθαρά δωμάτια, ευρύχωρα, διακοσμημένα με παλιά έπιπλα και πίνακες. Το μόνο αρνητικό είναι το ερκοντίσιον, που για να πιάσει θερμοκρασία πρέπει να είναι στις 21 για πολλές ώρες, αλλιώς ιδρώνεις. Η κ. Θεοφανώ και ο άνδρας της ο κ. Χρήστος είναι πολύ εξυπηρετικοί, δεν μας ενόχλησαν ποτέ, και ήταν πάντα εκεί για να τους ρωτήσουμε πληροφορίες για την Μονεμβασιά και τις γύρω περιοχές. Αν κάποιος έχει βαριές βαλίτσες, προτείνω να χρησιμοποιήσετε έναν αχθοφόρο (5€ φιλοδώρημα) γιατί οι ανηφόρες μέχρι το ξενοδοχείο είναι πολλές. Κατ’άλλα, το Theophano Art Hotel είναι ένα υπέροχο, ρομαντικό, οικογενειακό ξενοδοχείο. Σας ευχαριστούμε από καρδιάς.

We were 15 peoples in a travel group. The owner lady made us feel at home. She wants to tell us everything about the hotel and the rooms. The breakfast is with limited choices but acceptable. Please make some more fresh fruits and vegetables in future. The last day when we left the lady showed us the basement with arts and collections. We can feel that she Is proud of everything here, and I wish her and her family all good luck in future.

Όταν πήραμε τηλέφωνο να κάνουμε κράτηση για ένα δωμάτιο με θέα θάλασσα και μπαλκόνι, η ιδιοκτήτρια ήταν ιδιαίτερα ειρωνική και με ύφος, λέγοντας " ότι δεν το χρειαζόμαστε γιατί θα είμαστε στην καστροπολιτεία και ότι υπάρχουν άλλα πράγματα για να δούμε" μη γνωρίζοντας αν έχουμε ξαναπάει στο κάστρο της Μονεμβασιάς. Επιμείναμε στην αρχική μας επιλογή και κάναμε κράτηση με πρωινό στα 115€ τη βραδιά. Μας ενημέρωσε πως το πρωινό είναι στα 15€/ημέρα. Στείλαμε λοιπόν προκαταβολή για μια νύχτα μαζί με πρωινό. Μια μέρα πριν την άφιξη μας καλέσαμε την ιδιοκτήτρια να ενημερώσουμε ότι θα φτάσουμε βράδυ λόγω δουλειάς και η απάντηση που πήραμε από μέρους της ήταν πως φτάνουμε πολύ αργά και αν μπορούμε να φύγουμε νωρίτερα από την δουλειά ή να πάρουμε άδεια. Της εξηγήσαμε ότι δεν μπορεί να γίνει αυτό και επίσης είπαμε ότι δεν θέλουμε τελικά πρωινό. Αυτή τη φορά μας είπε πως η τιμή του πρωινού ανέρχεται στα 20€ χωρίς ωστόσο να διευκρινίσει αν είναι την ημέρα ή τις δύο ημέρες. Φτάσαμε στο κατάλυμα μας υποδέχτηκε ο σύζυγός της ο κ. Χρήστος ευγενέστατος. Την ημέρα της αναχώρησης πήγαμε στην ρεσεψιόν να αφήσουμε το κλειδί του δωματίου και να πληρώσουμε το υπόλοιπο ποσό, μας ρώτησε μετρητά ή κάρτα και αφού της απαντήσαμε κάρτα, εκνευρίστηκε και άρχισε να υψώνει τον τόνο της φωνής κάνοντας μας υπόδειξη γιατί να πληρώσουμε με κάρτα. Δεν φτάνει μόνο αυτό ...όταν ζητήσαμε διευκρίνιση σχετικά με την τιμή του πρωινού, η οποία έπρεπε να αφαιρεθεί, άρχιζε να φωνάζει λέγοντας πως κάνουμε παζάρια και πώς την προσβάλλουμε. Σε καμία περίπτωση δεν θέλαμε να κάνουμε παζάρια, θέλαμε απλώς να γνωρίζουμε ποια εντέλει ήταν η τιμή του πρωινού, καθώς μας είπε δύο διαφορετικές τιμές σε διάστημα τριών εβδομάδων, χωρίς να εξηγήσει αν πρόκειται για τιμή ανά μέρα ή ανά δύο μέρες. Απαράδεκτη συμπεριφορά. Επηρεαστήκαμε από τις καλές κριτικές που διαβάσαμε στο booking, ωστόσο, η συνολική εμπειρία ήταν το λιγότερο απαράδεκτη και σίγουρα αποτρεπτική όσον αφορά μια διαμονή στο εν λόγω κατάλυμα. Σημείωση: το κλιματιστικό δεν δούλευε και η τηλεόραση είχε μόνο τα κρατικά κανάλια. Δεν αναφέραμε κάτι τέτοιο εννοείται, διότι ή απάντηση που θα παίρναμε θα ήταν υπόδειξη πως δεν τα χρειαζόμαστε όλα αυτά αφού είμαστε στην καστροπολιτεία....όσο για το δωμάτια πολύ κατώτερο των προσδοκιών που διαμορφώνονται από τις φωτογραφίες που υπάρχουν στο ίντερνετ.
