Perfect one night stop off while heading up to The Open. Polite and swift communication before stay and accommodated our 10pm arrival with ease. Lovely traditional rooms - very comfortable, clean and quiet. Left early so not able to comment on what I’m sure would have been a lovely breakfast based on the welcome.

Lovely welcoming hosts who can’t do enough to make your visit calming relaxing and a joy. Rooms at spacious and comfortable and the house is full of character. Breakfast was delicious and well cooked with plenty of choice and variety. Due to position in a cul de sac the place is quiet but only a 5 minute walk from town.

This is one of the best b&b's we have stayed in for a very long time, the room was lovely & extremely clean & the owners couldn't be more accommodating. It's in a great cul de sac only a 5 minute stroll from the centre. Breakfast was lovely & you only had to ask if there wasn't something on the menu & they delivered. Just how a b&b should be run. Jeep up the gif with guys

The house is lovely. It was clean and within walking distance to the shops. However I gave it an average rating because I specifically asked if the scrambled eggs were cooked in the microwave and they said no. They clearly were when they arrived as they looked like nothing I have ever seen. Scrambled eggs cooked properly on the hob have a creamy curd like appearance. These had long strings of egg which was truly disgusting. The smoked salmon was mixed in so I could not eat that either. If the cook could take a few minutes to make proper scrambled eggs on the hob they could get a much higher score. Little things really matter.

This was a perfect location for a brief stay in Scotland with plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants within 5-10 minutes walking distance from Hartfell House. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay with an on-site EV charger, free reliable Wi-Fi and free breakfast included. Overall this was a really enjoyable break and we would not hesitate to book here again in future. Thanks, Andy & Debi

I had asked for a quiet room at the rear of the house and got room 7. Didn’t really need this as Hartfell is near the end of a cul- de -sac. An imposing Victorian building with lovely architectural features. Rob and Marie are very good hosts. The breakfast was top quality with local ingredients served in the opulent dining room.

We were only able to stay one night as we were travelling on but would recommend to anyone. Really friendly owner nice clean well appointed room and excellent breakfast....thank you Moffat is a lovely little town close to the border of England

Hartfell House is in a very peaceful location, yet only a short walk from all amenities in Moffat. Great welcome and service from friendly hosts. The room was very clean and we had lots of space. Breakfast was very filling and delicious. B&B just as it should be!

I've stayed at Hartfell House many times over the years and have yet to have a problem with my stays. The building is a lovely old house with many original features retained but has the modern features you'd expect of a B&B. Its also fantastically convenient for travellers on the A74(M)/M74 route to and from Central Scotland, which is when I usually stay here. The shower was a decent temperature and had good flow and my room was spacious and very clean Unfortunately the restaurant is no longer open (or at least wasn't during my stay) but its only a short walk down to Moffat itself
