My husband and I had a much needed break away. We love old B&B’s and the Fitzroy Inn certainly had some history!!! Nice room (5) upstairs looking over the front of the Inn, but all the gardens were beautifully kept with bridges, pond, gazebo etc Lovely host and very obliging staff. Thanks for a lovely stay.

I recently hosted a black tie birthday party for my husband at Fitzroy Inn and could not have wished for a better venue. Our guests loved the history and character of the Inn and the ambience of the conservatory for our dinner party. The fact that all of our guests could stay onsite and celebrate with us into the early hours of the morning made it even more special. The atrium and smaller lounge rooms were perfect for quiet drinks and conversation and the billiard room was very popular. We loved that we had the opportunity to meet up with our guests for breakfast the next morning and many of us didn't want to leave. The rooms are extremely comfortable whilst also being quirky and character-filled as you would expect from a historic property. I would not hesitate to recommend the Fitzroy Inn to anyone planning a special event. Nothing was too much trouble for John, Jill and the team and we could not have been happier that we chose Fitzroy Inn for our party.

One night stay to breathe in the fresh country air - it was a lovely 24 hrs! Fitzroy Inn is a beautiful venue - very comfortable, cosy and well appointed. Very friendly staff who made us feel extremely welcome. Highly recommend Fitzroy Inn for short stay like ours or bigger gathering for special occasions. We’ll definitely be returning again!!

Lovely quaint hotel with lots of character, we stayed one Thursday night so it was very quiet. Our room (4) was OK but a little strange as the toilet and shower were back to back on wall behind bedhead. The bed was an old frame bed so we had to be careful getting in and out of it. It also had two chairs, fridge, kettle etc. We could hear the trains go passed during the night but it didn't disturb us much. The downstairs rooms are lovely for sitting (must be great in winter with an open fire), they are all numbered so guests can explore, it was a cold day when we stayed so not suitable for eating pizza on the deck as others have suggested but plenty of restaurants in Mittagong. There are also some suites in a building to the rear which would be nice for a longer stay. Breakfast was perfect for us, cereals, fruit, yogurt etc., and a very easy to use coffee machine. It is a lovely property for weddings, events etc., the owner John is very nice and we would go again when in the area.

We traveled down last weekend with a group of 9 couples for a 1920s-themed ****** mystery night, and it was an absolute blast! John, Helen and Jill were incredibly accommodating and the catering was delicious. The inn’s charming character (and gaol cell) added so much to the suspense and overall atmosphere. Every room was spotless, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Thanks again for an unforgettable experience!

A beautiful place to stay. Our room was huge and bed most comfortable. John is a gracious host and we enjoyed the history walk around the buildings. The Fitzroy Inn is a welcome retreat and worth staying for a few days. Nice breakfast and coffee. Enjoyed a takeaway pizza on the verandah with a bottle of wine for supper. Perfect! Highly recommended.

We had our wedding at the Fitzroy Inn over the weekend and couldn't fault it! We hired the venue for the two nights and had our friends and family stay with us. On the Friday night we organised a pizza van to come and serve dinner which was great and then on the Saturday (the wedding day) I (the bride) was very relaxed knowing that all the guests and vendors were taken care of by the Fitzroy staff. I want to thank Helen, John and the team for a great few days, i'd love to do it all over again it was that fantastic!

Our room was excellent, in a separate building to the Inn but very close to go across for breakfast.Breakfast which was a European continental-cereal and juice,two hard boiled eggs, proscuito and yoghurt. Fruit would have been nice. Service not great, we were the only guests mid week so the Inn was closed up by nightfall and deserted and the restaurant not open weeknights. The owners seemed busy planning events and didn't give us much info, however the lady who served breakfast was very nice and helpful and gave us a very interesting tour of the building. We enjoyed our stay for the peace and quiet ( although the noise from a wooden car bridge and trains nearby are clearly heard).Good base to explore Mittagong, Bowral area, lookouts, walks etc. Inn has tennis court and lovely gardens to explore.

Luxury Escapes two night stay We upgraded to a premium room ($20 per night). Aging building and creaky floors but is was a large room and comfortable bed. The Bathroom was aged but functional with nice 'rainforest shower - no bath! WiFi did not work in our room and mobile internet via Vodafone not great anywhere in the hotel - okay in downtown Mittagong. Wrap around Verandah was a great place to sip wine and relax - except when the trains passed! Speaking of which it must be noted that the goods trains were very noisy both in our room and on the property, passing only 50 meters from the property. Unfortunately these were frequent throughout the night and did affect sleep - not the hotels fault but also not on the advertising! Pleasant & helpful staff. 1920oos
