Hotel Effie Sandestin, Autograph Collection

My sister and I stayed in this hotel because we wanted to flee Hurricane Milton. Our porter, Dwayne, could possibly have saved us from an accident when he noticed one of our car tires was very low. We are very thankful for Dwayne’s keen eye and his friendly personality 💕

Elegant and comfortable with the full service one deserves!!! The Wharf brings you not only great food and views but entertainment as well. Whether shopping, sea watching or sunset dining, this luxury hotel has it all. Being pet friendly means alot to us and the staff makes them feel just as important as anyone.

Not Marriott service, you have to do better. Rooftop bar happy hour is really sad hour- lazy staff not helpful absolutely ridiculous I come here quite often hoping new management this summer would change. But apparently that is too much to ask.

Fantastic property in Sandestin. While not on the beach, the hotel more than made up for it with its superb service. Kudos to the Ovide team (on-site restaurant). In particular Ashley, who took the time to learn how I enjoyed my breakfast and did a fantastic job every morning. As well as Lizbeth who always found me at breakfast or dinner and stopped by to say hello. I called out two, but every single member of the hotel team I encountered was super friendly and always happy to ensure I had a relaxing stay. The only thing that gave me some stress was the self parking. It is a bit far, and if you come at the wrong time, you may end up on the far and unlit portion of the lot. If you find yourself on the far end of the lot it is gravel and no complete walkway to the hotel, forcing you to lift your luggage across dividers. Also after scanning your room key to lift the gate there is an awkward 90 degree turn that I, and other guests, initially had trouble with. After a couple days, you get used to it. Not a deal breaker, but might be worth considering valet if those items bother you.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits dans cet hôtel après avoir fui Panama City Beach, nous n’avions donc pas réservé mais on nous a trouvé une chambre pour 4 avec un balcon. L’hôtel est majestueux dans un complexe privé de golf et de résidences qui est superbe. Le complexe possède un petit village avec bars et restaurants à 2 pas de l’hôtel. L’hôtel est très beau, décoration soignée et très classe. Les chambres sont très jolies aussi, le lit un peu dur a mon goût. Seul petit bémol, notre balcon donnait sur la baie donc très jolie vue mais nous étions au-dessus des machineries et moteurs des clim qui font un bruit incroyable ! Dommage car ça nuit à la quiétude du lieu. D’autre part, nous n’avons pas réussi à faire faire notre chambre même après moult appels à la réception. La veille lors de notre arrivée, la salle de bain n’était pas nickel non plus (cheveux par terre et odeur de pipi, nous avons demandé à faire refaire au moins les toilettes) donc ça aurait été bien que la chambre soit faite le lendemain. On a réussi à avoir enfin des serviettes propres et du gel douche le soir a 20h ! Un peu tard ! À côté de ça, tout était très bien. Le personnel est adorable et attentionné. La piscine en rooftop est top, très calme. On aurait aimé testé la plage privée mais malheureusement il a plu toute la journée et nous avons dû annuler. On a fait la veille la plage publique où on peut se rendre en navette depuis l’hôtel, très pratique et très belle plage. Le restaurant l’Ovide est très bon, des saveurs travaillées et originales. Les cookies de 17h offerts sont juste une tuerie ;)

Nice room. No iron (steamer instead), mini fridge, small balcony, shower only(no tub) but with a bar/foot rest that my wife says is for women when shaving their legs), no recycle bin, hairdryer, make up remover, cotton swabs, cotton balls, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, shower cap, lots of shelf space in bathroom, in room, coffee maker, in room safe, slippers, robes. Some corridor noise, but no noise from outside. Rooftop pool ~15 yards long, small fitness room one regular bite, one Peloton bike, two treadmills and one elliptical. Free freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at 5 in the lobby. Off-road bike/jogging/walking path to beaches almost 4.4 miles round-trip. Free shuttle, free beach towels. Larger pool at aquatic center available for guests. Self parking areas some are Eco friendly Gravel mesh. Amazingly never saw a mosquito. Walkable to "town square" an area with many restaurants and some shops (including a small grocery store. Most of restaurants in town square are typical somewhat overpriced theme park type food. The restaurant in Hotel Effie is actually quite good - and that was where we had our tastiest meal.

I do not regret booking this hotel at all or paying the price to simply unwind and placate myself and my husband. We were in town for a follow up doctor’s appt. The room was comfortable and beautifully appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful! We arrived late and the young man at valet on the night of our arrival was so sweet. We opted to self park and he was so helpful in telling us what we needed to do to accomplish that. The following day was rainy. We went to our appointment and came back to the hotel to unwind. We napped for most of the day and ordered room service upon awaking. When I say the food was AMAZING!!! Presentation was on point and the taste!! It was better than expected! It tasted as good as it looked! For reference my husband ordered the cheeseburger and crème brûlée and I ordered the crispy ribs and stir fry broccolini and crème brûlée. I can’t say enough about the food and the young lady that delivered it to our room was so pleasant! I heard my husband talking to her as I stayed in bed. She asked if we were enjoying our stay as he replied yes and it had been very restful. The next morning we went down to have breakfast upon checkout. Again, our Jamaican born hostess was such a delight. We had a delightful conversation about Jamaican Blue mountain Coffee as she seated us and our server brought the same beautiful energy. Our breakfast was stellar and the restaurant itself was beautifully decorated. Upscale finishes. Checkout was seamless. We will definitely be back when we are in town for another stay. I have been spoiled to make Hotel Effie an exclusive place to stay when in town.

Elegant place, well put together and kept, friendly staff who take their jobs seriously. Particularly Lisbeth, a server who went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my dinner experience, and her colleagues in the restaurant who all treat you like they are genuinely happy you are there. (Kind of a rarity these days). Front desk staff really pleasant as well. Pool and bar on roof is really fun. Rooms well appointed and comfortable. Downsides: no mini bar and was dissatisfied with the suboptimal housekeeping job in the room which didn’t fit with the character of the place as I otherwise experienced it. Minor annoyance. Funny bonus: The place has a really distinct smell in the lobby and public areas that is…sexy? Turns out it’s by design; it’s a signature room scent that you can actually buy in the spa to take home. Pretty smooth touch. All in all, yes to this hotel. Definitely a standout.
