Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

Check-in was ridiculous. Somehow payment wasn't processed at check-in. Made trip back to desk in another building to resubmit payment. Once back at room door key didn't work. Had to go back to the desk in other building to get key reauthorized. This took the first two hours of vacation time and missed dinner with friends. Could not get anyone on the phone at front desk at any time. Building Ice maker didn't work. Staff said go to other building for ice. Worst vacation stay in last 20 years of travel.

Our unit was under construction and we were not made aware. Our trip started with the property manager asking if a real estate photographer could come in and take pictures while our two young children were sleeping. Our “view” was scaffolding and construction workers. We were awoken by saws and hammers in the morning taking apart the framing around our doors and windows. We came back from the beach to the steps and walkway to our unit completely ripped out and we were unable to get inside. We spent the majority of one day of our short trip being passed along on the phone to the wrong people and trying to get a new unit. Once we were given a new unit, we moved all of our stuff out by walking across 2x4 planks and plywood. Lots of “wow that’s really inconvenient,” but no offer of a refund or even complimentary dinner. We were told to wait in the car with our infant and 2 year old until someone was off of lunch break to get us keys to our new unit while our food, medical supplies, bottles, clothes etc were inside an inaccessible unit.
