Red Roof Inn Sandusky - Milan

I tried calling to check in on July 4th multiple times with no answer, we arrive shortly after midnight (July 5th) to overhear they are giving our room away to someone else. We walk into our room and immediately smell a bunch of perfume to try and hide the horrible smell of the room. There were hairs left on the bathroom wall and all of the shampoo and conditioner were pushed to the corner. It was clear they did not clean the bathroom. There was gunk and mold on the bathroom drain and I had to use my inhaler multiple times it smelt so bad. There was even a bug on my son’s diaper that was sitting out on the counter. We go down to the front to ask to switch rooms, while waiting we are blatantly ignored while the employees are in the back room loudly talking about **** etc. the front desk lady tells me there is nothing she can do and she cannot even refund us because we booked through ******* but her GM will be there in the morning(the gm was not there in the morning) we asked if they could just come clean the bathroom and we were denied. We call Kelly, the GM the following afternoon and she is so rude and unhelpful and tells me I should have canceled and gotten my refund (even though we tried and the front desk lady told me she couldn’t) They said we couldn’t get a refund because we stayed until 11am (check out is noon) We were with our two young toddlers and had no other options. They were still sleeping and tired from our travels. I tried to cancel and get a refund the night we checked in and were told they couldn’t it had to be through ******* and the gm says differently. Disgusting rooms and disgusting customer service. Never stay here

Quick stay as we were traveling East. Price reasonable, but the taxes are high due to the location. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was basic but met the need. Hotel has a pool and dry sauna which we didn't use but area was clean. Area felt safe.

Didn’t plan on staying here but nearby hotels all seemed sold out. This was a stop over on a road trip. Everything was pretty average. The larger room we booked for the same price as a smaller room didn’t have anything special in it, just a larger open space area. Front rooms are loud from busy street however I felt safer being closer to the front desk. Hotel TV guide next to tv showed channels they don’t even subscribe to. Couldn’t watch favorite teams play. Tip: use their own website for price matching or lower prices, I overpaid using a third party vendor. Breakfast was good, real OJ. People run down the halls making noise. Nice green space in back of the hotel if you are traveling with pets. Subway is right next to parking lot.

The room was clean, the light in the vanity was very bright and the vinyl flooring was a nice touch instead of nasty carpeting that is never cleaned. Depite that we wouldn't stay again. The tub drain was clogged, there was no elevator (no mention of this on the website), the key cards cleared if too close to a cell phone (how close is too close?), the faucet was plumbed backward, the vessel sink looks nice but leaves no counter space for toiletries (we used the ironing board), the only chair for sitting, aside from the desk chair, is an armless dining room chair, the WIFI was spotty, the pillows were flat, and the breakfast was fair at best. We mentioned the sink plumbing to the owner and all she said was that it's an old hotel and was probably always that way. But the vanity area is obviously updated and the area beneath the sink is open so it should be easy to disconnect the lines and connect them correctly. There are too many issues with this hotel to make us want to stay again, even though the price was good. They should consider raising rates a bit to provide some funds for the fixes they need.

Super clean hotel, very friendly staff. Great hotel for good prices will be back next you. Great job! Not complaints here other than full parking lot, but doesn’t seem lik there is much space to expand.

The room was pretty clean except all of the wash cloths had random hairs in them (they were not my hairs). The beds were very uncomfortable. We both woke up with an achy back and I am only 24 years old. The breakfast was mediocre. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly though.

The service here is awful. My friend and I are trying to go for a peaceful walk around the hotel and the front desk lady forces us to go to our rooms-how disrespectful. Also, the food tastes like a 5 year old made it, disgusting. Wouldn't recommend.

Lorraine provided the best customer service! Very polite & helpful. Food was amazing ,The rooms were huge. Great price for a room. The entire hotel was squeaky clean! I’ll definitely be coming back here again :)

I stayed 2 days this week & recommend this hotel ! Staff is 100% professional & went over & beyond to accommodate me with a 40 ' boat trailer ..room was decent & affordable! No complaints at all & I will not hesitate to stay here in the future!
