Travelodge Ipswich Stowmarket

I stayed here for work last week, cheap and cheery hotel but it had everything I needed and the location was close to stowmarket where I was working. Staff were well presentable and very helpful. Always polite. Room had everything I needed. Bed was clean and comfortable. Will use again for future work stays.

A two night stay whilst visiting friends and as my title suggests, it did the job perfectly well. To be brief let me outline the good and bad points: The Good The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and very comfortable The bed was comfortable too In-room Coffee and tea very welcome The Bad I purchased Wi-fi for the full period, but sadly couldn't connect even following all the written instructions and assistance from a member of staff. The additional pillows are a little hard. The shower is over the bath which is ok however, the non- slip base of the bath has worn away so if you use the body wash supplied makes the bath very slippery. they should supply a rubber mat! Finally the establishment is located behind a lorry park and a closed down "Little Chef", which doesn't make it look very appealing when you drive in. But most importantly for us "it did what it said on the tin"!

Although the building is maybe getting a little tired it offered a clean room and adequate facilities. I would particularly commend Roland on reception for his warm welcome and willingness to offer any assistance needed. It does what it says on the tin .

The Travelodge room had all he essential amenities needed to have a safe, warm and comfortable stay. Value for money is excellent.

Return visit, have stayed many times. Not the most beautiful location but it was quiet, comfy and friendly. We had a downstairs doggy room next to reception which meant we could pop in and out without disturbing anyone. Front door was locked at night but we had a key and staff were available 24 hours. Anything we asked for was done with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

Arrived at night - could see the Travelodge sign, outside a derelict Little Chef, but couldn't see hotel from road. Roadway took us up a track between a goods yard, and the derelict cafe so we turned round and went back to road, thinking we'd missed an entrance. Quick call to hotel, who told us they were there, so back again, down lane (poor lighting) and behind the goods yard, we found the hotel. Next morning in daylight, we could see it, but with no lighting and not having been there before, very difficult to find. Once in, hotel clean and tidy, good value for money (paid £30) and only a mile to the village for restaurant and pub.
