Hilton Grand Vacations at McAlpin-Ocean Plaza

Stayed here 2 weeks in Nov 2024....WOW... what a Location, Location, Location...can't beat this location anywhere in the US! Right on the famous Ocean Drive, South Beach, Art Deco district, right across the sandy beach and park on the spacious walking street with no vehicles plying. Miami's swanky tourist and most happening area, bustling with trendy tourists and plethora of restaurants of all kind from Versace's Residence converted to a restaurant to take out small joints to suit every pocket & budget. Several grocery stores close by, albeit small ones and a bit on the pricier side. Being an avid tennis player loved the public 25 clay court facility in Flamingo Park about 5 mins by cycle. Loved the Citi Bike cycle rental facility and used it every day to travel all over Miami Beach City, $35/month and the App works like a charm at a hundred and more bike station locations. If you are looking for a quiet people free space, this is absolutely not for you. McAlpin staff were very friendly ready to serve and comply with requests. The building is old style Art Deco right in the midst of proudly preserved district by the city, hence felt privileged to stay here. The rooms/furniture were understandably older style but very clean and fresh smelling, like in all HGV Resorts we have stayed over the 20 years. The kitchen was spacious, well equipped and clean cutlery/utensils, we did use it extensively as restaurants are very very pricey, especially with 18-20% auto-added tips and request for over-tips! Bed was very comfy the AC worked well quietly. 1 Bed suite had no Ocean view, but the 2-Bed units have amazing ocean view as well. The only issue I had was the after hour check-in procedure was not made clear in the communications and we struggled a bit hauling our luggage around. Check-in for both buildings McAlpin and Ocean Plaza is at Ocean Plaza check-in desk, which we did not know. Since vehicles are forbidden on the pedestrian street, the car/cab needs to get to the closest point on the north end of the street and the luggage has to to hauled for about 200-250 yards on the road to Ocean Plaza. Caution, the south end is much further away almost 1/3 mile or more. All doors were locked and no one seemed to be around looking through the glass until the night manager Angel showed up at the front desk after about 5 mins of waiting and we knocked and he let us in and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. He said we could have knocked on the glass and he would have heard us. During our stay we noticed several guests facing similar situation like us and we used help by letting them in. They should provide a calling bell button prominently located for after hour check in guests, which will solve the problem and this info should also be communicated to the guests via email closer to the date. Concierge services were great checking-out, ever friendly Tall Paul took care of hauling the luggage on a trolley to the waiting Uber. We had a paradisical time here an

Suite was spacious with all amenities for a suite. Staff at desk were personable, knowledgeable and helpful, Quiet. Slow elevator. Shower door allowed water to get out on floor. Disappointed that whirlpool heater was not working, so had to travel to Hilton facility next door to use whirlpool. Facility is on Ocean Avenue which is closed to be a promenade. Unclear where to have Uber deliver or pick you up. Facility did not give best address to be dropped off; best address to use is 1446 Ocean Dr (across from a Starbucks). City tour which was arranged had several downsides.

Celebrating our 15 year anniversary with friends. First in Orlando at HGV Parc Soliel then here at HGV McAlphin/ Ocean Plaza. We had the two bedroom two bath, it has a roommate style to it the living room separates the two bedroom. Is on Ocean drive in South Beach the location is perfect. We had a vehicle which we valet park at Z Ocean hotel for $49/day. A short walk to the resort. Go to the beach right across the street. Ocean drive is blocked off from traffic so pedestrians can walk freely. Everything is expensive so just be ready for it, plus your on vacation. Enjoy your trip

My wife and I have visited here as a guest of my parents timeshare. This will be our 3rd time. I gave this location 5 stars for the following reasons: - location and convenience: beach is walking distance with discounts on chairs and umbrellas, tons of restaurants, convenient stores and shopping (Lincoln rd) and attractions - Vibe: the street is closed, live music on the street, the uplighting at night - amenities: access to pools at Z hotel, Jacuzzi, gym common area on 4th floor, filtered water 24/7, free laundry - kitchen and size of each room: the 1 bedroom is spacious and makes you feel at home. Nice size TV with cable - the staff: extremely friendly, attentive and accommodating. There was nothing they couldn’t help us with. (Shoutout to Tall Paul, Gio and Cassandra!)

My wife and I stayed here for three nights before our cruise. Great location!! Hotel is located on the closed off section of the main boulevard and has great access to beach front! Simply cross the street. Restaurants choices everywhere, so no problem with dinning out. Grocery stores are nearby which works perfectly if you want to cook in your room! Note that rooms have electric counter top and convection oven / microwave. Works out very nice to save on meals. Download the trolley app which will take you around for free!!! Rooms were very nice!! Only two bedrooms face the ocean front. Also has a top floor outside hot tub and fitness. Only 23 min from cruise port, we use Lyft during our experience.

Excelente ubicación, en la avenida de ocean dr a dos minutos de la playa, todo está cerca del hotel, hay lavandería disponible para los huéspedes así lavas tu ropa, sobretodo si viajas con niños, tener cocina nos ahorró mucho dinero. Un hotel limpio y con excelente servicio. El personal bilingüe nos atendió amablemente.
