Just got back from a week at the Mar Hotel Alimuri with my wife, and overall, we had a really nice time. The location is fantastic, right by the water, so you’ve got the pool if you feel like a swim, and the beach is just a short stroll away. It’s the kind of place where you can easily switch between lounging by the pool and dipping your toes in the sea. Our room was comfortable and clean, though not overly fancy.The standout feature, though, was the view. Waking up to that sea panorama every morning was absolutely stunning. We spent a lot of time on the balcony just soaking it in, especially in the evenings with a glass of wine. It’s the kind of view that makes you feel like you’re on a proper holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful,which always makes a difference. The hotel itself is a bit dated in some areas,but it’s well-maintained and has a relaxed vibe. It’s not a luxury resort, but if you’re after a comfortable stay with easy access to the beach and a nice pool, this place does the job. All in all, we enjoyed our stay. It’s not perfect, but it’s got everything you need for a laid-back holiday by the sea. Would we go back?Yeah, I think so. It’s a good spot for a bit of relaxation.

We were allocated a room on same floor as reception facing the road. The room was clear but had an odd smell to it. Fan in bathroom didn’t work so needed to keep window open for ventilation, however we’re then dealing with noise and fumes from traffic. We tend to work on the basis as long as room clean and comfortable for the time you spend in it, it would be fine. Unfortunately not in this case, we couldn’t air towels or swim suits off, room smelt of damp. Final straw was toilet seat wasn’t correct shape for toilet and snapped nipping my leg. Asked reception if we could please be moved to an alternative room, for an extra cost we were relocated to a larger room on the roof, with a balcony and a sea view, this turned our stay around, had I known for extra I could get an upgraded room we would have done this at the start of our stay. Staff were friendly. Food was nice always something to choose from. Free transport available into Sorrento, easy to book up and plenty of time slots. Hotel was clean, spa area being renovated so closed, but we knew that at time of booking. Pool area clean, plenty of sun beds. Access to beach from pool patio area.

While the facilities were generally well kept, some areas would need a bit of updating to align with the overall charm of the setting. The staff was friendly and helpful, though there were occasional delays in service during peak times. In summary, The Alimuri is a good choice for a couple’s getaway, combining a really nice location with good amenities. It’s not perfect, but it offers a relaxing base to enjoy the beauty of Sorrento and Amalfi coast.

I recently stayed at Mar Hotel Alimuri with my family in september and we had a wonderful time. The hotel’s beachfront location is absolutely stunning, and having access to the beach was a huge highlight for us. The convenience of being able to relax by the sea without dealing with crowds was really apreciated. The on-site restaurant was very good, the food was fresh, with a good variety of dishes to choose from. We enjoyed the seafood options, which were perfectly cooked the italian way. Breakfast was good as well. The staff, especially at reception were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay. While the hotel has a lot going for it, there are a couple of areas for improvement. Some parts of the property feel a bit dated. However, this was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise enjoyable stay. If you re looking for a relaxing family getaway with good food and a fantastic beach, Mar Hotel Alimuri is definitely worth considering. We left with great memories and would recommend it to anyone planning a trip the Sorrento area.

Nice, but run down This is definitely not a 4* hotel, maybe it was once in it's heyday but not anymore. But first the positives, the hotel is in a beautiful location in Meta, towering cliffs surround it and the view across the bay to Sorrento is wonderful. The staff are polite and very friendly and the service was excellent. We only had breakfasts there but the selection was good, choices of cooked breakfasts, pastries, cereals etc. Tea and coffee is out of a machine but was fine, the fruit juice from a machine was disgusting though. Now the negatives, the hotel itself is in desperate need of a complete renovation, it is so run down, the plaster on the walls outside is falling away, the floors are chipped, paintwork outside is rusting and the exterior furniture has seen better days. Our room was a twin with a balcony over looking the bay. The room was clean and the bedding was clean and crisp. The light wasn't great as half the bulbs didn't work, the toilet wasn't secured to the floor, someone had tried to use some sealant to secure it (only halfway round) but that hadn't worked. The bath had enamel worn away and again some poor sealant application all round it. Also the extractor fan didn't work. In the room there was a strange radio system fitted into the wall, but a, it didn't work and b, it was installed upside down. Be warned, if you have a room facing the bay be prepared to be kept awake by, what in my opinion, was the worst hotel entertainment ever blaring out.
