Le Grand Coeur and Spa

Stopped into the bar for a coffee and tea while having a wander around the area before heading out to the slopes. Service was very good and staff were welcoming. Almost a bit over the top though, and felt like we were being interrogated with 4 different people taking care of us before we even received our order. Anyway, beautiful view from comfy sofas in the bar. After our drinks and croissants, we were informed that American and UK credit cards would not be accepted by the hotel owner. We were instructed to go and get cash to pay for drinks and croissants. I suspect the hotel didn’t want to pay the credit card service fee for a small order. And the coffee was just from a nespresso maker so nothing special. And tea with lemon was €12.00!

J'ai récemment séjourné avec mes enfants dans un hôtel exceptionnel et je tenais à partager mon expérience incroyable avec vous. Notre semaine passée là-bas a été tout simplement mémorable, grâce à un service impeccable et des employés aux petits soins. Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement par le personnel attentif de l'hôtel. Leur amabilité et leur professionnalisme ont créé une atmosphère agréable et accueillante dès le premier instant. Tout au long de notre séjour, les employés ont été aux petits soins pour nous. Ils ont fait preuve d'une grande attention envers mes enfants, veillant à ce qu'ils se sentent à l'aise et en sécurité. Leur gentillesse et leur disposition à répondre à nos besoins ont été remarquables. Les installations de l'hôtel étaient tout simplement extraordinaires. Les espaces communs étaient magnifiquement aménagés et entretenus. Les équipements tels que la piscine et l'aire de jeux pour enfants étaient parfaits pour divertir mes enfants et leur offrir des moments de plaisir inoubliables. Enfin, je tiens à souligner la qualité exceptionnelle de la cuisine proposée par l'hôtel. Les repas étaient délicieux et variés, offrant une véritable expérience culinaire. Le personnel du restaurant était également extrêmement attentionné et serviable, rendant nos repas encore plus agréables. En résumé, notre séjour dans cet hôtel a été une expérience inoubliable. Le service impeccable et attentionné des employés a largement contribué à rendre notre séjour mémorable. Je recommande vivement cet hôtel à tous ceux qui recherchent un séjour exceptionnel en famille. Merci encore à toute l'équipe de l'hôtel pour leur excellence et leur dévouement.

The hotel itself was nice enough if a bit dated, but on departure I was upset to find out that the hotel is Russian owned as opposed to the French family vibe they would suggest. I don’t mean to stir international troubles any more than they are already but I was devastated to find my large bill was going to individuals from a country which is conducting an unjust war.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cet hôtel, que nous connaissions déjà. Rien n'a changé dans les prestations, toujours au top, malgré le contexte politique. Personnel et direction à l'écoute, très agréable et aux petits soins, dîners et petits déjeuners de grande qualité. Bref nous recommandons cet étabissement où l'on se sent très bien . Une valeur sûre...

What a wonderful hotel! I travelled with my family to Meribel for a ski trip. We had the best stay at Le Grand Coeur. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was incredible and the location was perfect. The hotel is just above the centre of Meribel and there are steps outside allowing you to easily reach the town centre in just a few minutes. However the hotel is so quiet you would have no idea the centre is so close! The hotel is ski-in-ski-out which is perfect and is easily accessible via a blue run. Our rooms had a lovely terrace that got the sun and great views of the pistes above Chaudanne. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms were a good size and equipped with all the amenities you could want (including robes and slippers). We ate dinner at the hotel one evening a long with breakfast daily. The evening food was spectacular and very inventive. The breakfast selection was delicious and covered everything we could wish for. The bar area was very relaxing and we were well looked after every evening by the lovely bar staff. The spa was great at the hotel, especially the jacuzzi. There is also a games room with a table football table, pinball machine and PS5 if you have kids. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a luxurious and relaxing stay in the heart of Meribel. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who looked after us during our stay. We will be back again!

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. Overall, it's a pretty solid hotel, but it's probably not worth the price and it certainly doesn't live up to the standards of other Relais and Chateaux properties. Pros: The location is great. Good ski in and ski out access and centrally located in Meribel (you can walk to many shops and restaurants quickly). The bar is lovely, but expensive. The staff is helpful and nice. Breakfast selection is huge. Our room was newly renovated and nice. Cons: Hallways (and apparently some rooms) could use some updating. The ski locker area could use a refresh as well. It's close to the indoor hot tub and is humid and smells like a pool in the ski locker room. Overall just not up to the standards of a 800-900 euro per night hotel. Not really a con, but this hotel lacks the specialness and "wow" factor that many Relais and Chateaux have.
