We’ve stayed at Cay Beach Meloneras before, but sadly this second visit will be our last. The biggest disappointment was the reception staff—unfriendly, unhelpful, and generally unwelcoming throughout our stay. It was a stark contrast to the cleaning staff, who were genuinely lovely and always greeted us with a warm smile. The reception team could definitely learn a thing or two from them about basic hospitality. Our room was clean, thanks to the excellent housekeeping team, but it’s clear the accommodation is in need of renovation. Fixtures and furniture felt tired and dated, which took away from our comfort. To make matters worse, the main pool was closed for renovations for two days during our stay—without any prior warning. For a resort like this, clear communication should be the minimum. It completely disrupted our plans and added to our growing disappointment. In the end, we were so unhappy that we left early and checked into a superior hotel for the final three nights of our holiday. It was a relief to move somewhere that met our expectations. Cay Beach Meloneras has definitely lost our trust, and we won’t be returning.
