Review: Mercure Melbourne Therry Street
I recently stayed at Mercure Melbourne Therry Street, and overall, it was a pleasant experience with some minor drawbacks.
Location – ★★★★★ (5/5)
The hotel’s location is excellent—right within the tram free zone, making it easy to get around. It’s also within walking distance to Queen Victoria Market (QVM) and a nearby tram station. Several dining options are available close by, adding to the convenience.
Cleanliness – ★★★½ (3.5/5)
While the room appeared tidy, the carpet didn’t feel clean, and dust and dirt were visible in the corners, suggesting that housekeeping might not be as thorough as expected.
Water Pressure – ★★★★★ (5/5)
One of the best aspects of the stay—the water pressure was super strong, and the temperature control was easy to adjust. A definite plus!
Housekeeping – ★★★★ (3.5/5)
Housekeeping was done daily, which was appreciated.
Facilities & Comfort – ★★★ (3/5)
• No restrooms in the lobby, which might be inconvenient for some guests.
• Knocking noises at night, but they weren’t disruptive enough to affect sleep.
• Kitchenette: A nice addition, but the microwave oven wasn’t working, so reheating food wasn’t possible.
• Bed: A bit too soft for my husband, but I found it comfortable.
• Lighting was good, though the toilet faces the side of the bed, which might be a concern for some.
Dining
The hotel has a restaurant, but it didn’t seem to be operating, even for breakfast.
Overall – ★★★★ (4/5)
Despite some minor issues, the hotel’s fantastic location, strong water pressure, and decent amenities make it a solid choice. Would stay here again.
