It was A great stay in the sheene mill thank you for accmodate us. The hotel was amazing vanue definatily reccomandation to friend and family. Specially thank to mr.kalendra upadhyay and mr. Anuj who provide us great hospitality thank to everyone and the hollie too... Everything was good and great. We will come back

Lovely courteous staff and really good food( curry for supper and avocado, eggs for breakfast).i would like to give it 31/2 but don’t have that option. The reason it’s not a four is because the room was a little but of a let down, fab view of water at back of the mill but the bathroom door was very stiff, the extractor fan was dirty and didn’t work, the bed was comfy but noisy when I moved in it and there was a lot of mildew on windows.

Me, my husband, 3 year old son and mother went to Sheene Mill for a Sunday Roast, the restaurant was beautiful, the table lay out and set up was perfect, lots of space. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and helpful. The roast was lovely! We had starter, main and dessert, very reasonably priced too. We will definitely be going back :)

We came here for a Valentine’s meal and we had such a lovely evening. The welcome was warm, the venue and ambience were beautiful, the staff absolutely lovely and the food was sublime, as well as being outstanding value for money. There was so much attention to detail. We had a perfect evening. Will definitely be back.

Only came for Sunday lunch. It's a great place in a lovely setting. Food is first class and interesting, beef and chicken roasts both superb. Chicken liver parfait on a par with any french M* restaurant. It's quiet ATM becuse people aren't aware it's open. Go before they are because it will be hard to book by May

Recently dined at a beautiful riverside restaurant, and the experience was truly refreshing amidst the hustle and bustle of daily life. The fine dining, set against the backdrop of nature, felt like a mini holiday—calm, rejuvenating, and immersive. The food was exquisite, with each dish thoughtfully prepared to deliver a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Adding to the charm was the warm and friendly service, which made the evening even more enjoyable. It was an experience worth savouring.

Fantastic hotel and restaurant. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. Food was excellent with a very big selection. Also the staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We are looking for to gong back very soon

Booked a one night stay for the 18 January 2025, only to be told by Sheene Mill today that they were double booked. When I spoke to the a member of staff, the reply was,”sorry someone else has booked two nights “, so we were left with nowhere to stay, quite rude and said how many times can I say sorry. If anyone is thinking of booking this venue for a wedding, I would think twice.

We were 5 adults and 6 children having an early 50th birthday celebration Sunday lunch for my daughter who was visiting from France. It was a last-minute booking but from the first telephone contact to bidding our farewells after the meal, every single aspect was just perfect! The first impression of Sheene Mill upon arrival is of an immaculately kept building and grounds. The same level of immaculate presentation and smart finishes continue as you go inside. We were shown into the lovely conservatory with views over the mill pond, lawns, waterside gazebo, large terrace, all beautifully kept. The setting is really magical and is the ideal backdrop to any event. We had a very warm welcome from a polite and attentive young waiter, and also from the very helpful, personable and highly professional Manager, Kelly. Nothing was too much trouble! We were shown to a large oval table, all set in readiness for us. It was beautifully decorated as was the conservatory as a whole. Our roast lunch was absolutely superb. We have never tasted beef like it. It was complemented by delicious veg. Those who had the chicken were equally impressed. We had truly excellent food and service the whole afternoon. Background music was really good too. The children were able to go outside and play between courses. We had originally planned a lunch in London, but the dubious train service put us off. We all agreed that no London restaurant could have provided the level of enjoyment, service and attention to detail we experienced at Sheene Mill! We can’t wait to go back . Thank you to all the staff for providing such a special and memorable experience for us and for my daughter. It was magical

The place was locked up when I arrived. After several attempts to get hold of them they said the would arrive on 20 minutes. Despite the booking saying breakfast was included and an onsite restaurant, I was left entirely alone in the hotel as the girl who let me in apologised and said that the restaurant was closed and there would be no breakfast either. I settled in for an evening as a lone woman in the middle of nowhere. I then found that the room had several issues, including (but not at all limited too): a broken kettle that wouldn't have passed a PAT, flickering lights, mold in the bathroom, a bottle of water that had been opened and drunk from! Stains everywhere, rotten window frames, the list goes on. I tried to call the owners but no answer. Obviously I didn't sleep well. I gave the hotel ample opportunity to remedy and they even agreed that it was not acceptable. They refused to provide the PAT, fire risk assessment or insurance for leaving lone guests on site when requested. Offered a 50% refund and then went excommunicado, so far they occasionally tell me the refund is with accounts but after 2 months they have had plenty of chances.... This is the first time in have everything felt compelled to write a review on tripadvisor

When we arrived we were asked to wait for our room to be ready. We therefore went onto the outside area. Wet seat cushions had been stacked up, but it had been a lovely sunny day. So, I placed them into the sun to dry. A member of staff had been on his phone texting, but the thought hadn't crossed his mind to put them out to dry. The bedroom was tired. Wallpaper missing where plugs and radiators had been previously fitted. Ceiling dirty and light removed but not painted over. Making coffee is done in the wardrobe. No fridge. We spent 2 nights. Came back from a day out, and room service had not been carried out. Dirty coffee cups, no coffee/milk replaced. No clean towels. Bed not made. When we enquired why our room hadn't been serviced, the staff said they only did it every 2 days. When we said we'd like our coffee cups washed and towels changed. He did it, but like he was doing us a favour. We said it was basic hotel standards not being met. Very disappointed. Like being run by staff who don't know how to run a hotel. Run down. Plastic flowers...and they are supposed to do weddings! Shame, I expect in previous days this was a nice hotel. But being run as cheap as possible. NO FINESSE. Breakfast was extra £15.

£6500 - for a couple of hours for a funeral wake. £300 for the tea and coffee ‘station’ to make it yourself! This was the quote the new owners gave a lady in the village. They would make that on bar takings! Disgusting. I will not be recommending.

Had a lovely meal last night with friends, very plentiful unlike what I remember from meals I've had there in the past. You don't go home wanting to eat something else. My very fat fillet steak was the most tender steak I have ever had anywhere! Plenty of mash, large whole flat mushroom , and a whole large tomato, none of that small half a tomato that most places seem to give you nowadays. Staff were very nice. And lovely venue to sit and have a drink by the river on a warm evening. Will definitely go more often now.

Booked restaurant on line and mentioned it was a 50 th birthday Arrived and shown to table Long wait for any offer of a drink and a child’s menu was not given Order placed and the child did not require any street but we did They bought half of her main course before our starters and when we queried it they said we will bring fed fries At 7.50 there were very expensive so she ate her food before we got our main course My fillet steak was overcooked and the bacon in the burger was undercooked We had to ask for more drinks as was not offered Overall disappointing as the service was very slow and Ned’s to be address as there was only 4 tables a 12% service was added too Would not return
