Meikleour Arms Hotel & Restaurant

Incredible place. We have been several times over the past years on fishing adventures on the Tay. The hotel and accommodation is absolutely brilliant. We stayed in the Stables Accomodation which was so luxurious and comfortable. All the staff are attentive and friendly. Plus a great wine list. Great work everyone involved.

My parents booked the restaurant for my 50th birthday. Drove 50 mins from Memus to get there, on arrival there was no power so we were sent away. We asked for a drink which was refused even though 2 members of staff were enjoying a drink in the garden, my mother phoned the following day to speak to the manager who wasn’t available, still waiting on the call back. How disappointing the whole experience was, completely understand that the loss of power is out with their control, but cancelling the booking 2 hours after we arrived is really not good enough. I understand that the booking info was on the computer but refusing a drink (which in my view should have been complimentary) was not nice, we drove a long way to get there for a very special occasion and not even an apology is disgusting! Shame on you, we won’t be back ever. Erik Smyth

Superb Weekend Break We booked for a 2 night stay in one of the cottages and had a great experience from start to finish. This is our fourth time staying here. Accommodation is spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff at the hotel were all excellent, friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is excellent, lovely food we ate there both nights and breakfast is equally as good.

Staff at the hotel were all excellent, friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has a relaxed vibe with excellent food - we ate at the restaurant both nights and were also pleased with the breakfast. A 2 minute stroll to the banks of Loch Tay and lots of nice walks in the surrounding area - the amazing warm, sunny weather helped but would highly recommend whatever the weather.

Went for a weekend stay with my boyfriend. Although the ethos of the menus were clear, the food didn't really live up. Everything was lacking seasoning and needed a bit more attention- Although my steak had a nice flavour, it was overcooked and dry when it should have been medium rare. My boyfriend had the mussels which were in a broth that needed further reduction. It was clearly good ingredients but bad execution, and felt like a wasted opportunity. Similarly, the room was gorgeous with a super comfy bed. But when it came to the sleep, the skylight directly outside out bedroom door rattled all night and made out bedroom door bang. All amounts of temporary solutions did not help and we had a terrible night's sleep. We are pretty relaxed people and didn't want to complain as the staff were lovely but although £165 a night didn't break the bank, it felt like a lot to leave feeling pretty unrested!

Stayed in a 3 bedroom stables property- it was beautiful and very well appointed. Had breakfast in the hotel the three mornings and dinner for 2 of our three evenings. The atmosphere, decor, food and staff were all amazing. The staff were all so friendly, welcoming and chatty. We will definitely be back.
