As a 5 star hotel and the high room rate, the service of this hotel is not up to the standard.
Most of staff in the restaurants have bad faces, n some of the receptionists at the front desk are not helpful. I have asked for a late check out owing to the late flight n poor weather condition with cyclone approaching, a fat lady at the front desk told me that we have to respect to the check out policy n she cannot even allow only 1 hour of late check out (pls note the check out time is 11am which is earlier than most of the other resorts n hotels in Mauritius).
Other housekeeping staff n bellboys are nice, the butler is also helpful but u have to find out all the information via their app/QR code. Although there are not too many guests in the hotel, they will ask u to make reservation for the dinner instead of walk in.
On top of all the above, the hotel’s cleanliness is a concern, 1 night I found a very big cockroach hidden at the back of minbar. It was so scary that I couldn’t sleep well that night.
For the pros, it has a very long beach line with clear water. It has a lot of facilities including library, game room, cinema, gym, water sports, 2 swimming pools n more restaurants with different cuisines than other hotels.
I chose it bcz it is ranked as a gourmet hotel but I found that the food is just fair.
In conclusion, I won’t pick this hotel for its average service n cleanliness with a very high room rate.
