Lakaz Chamarel Exclusive Lodge

My fiancé and I spent an unforgettable two-night stay at Lakaz Chamarel for our Valentine’s Day celebration, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we checked in, we were treated like royalty. Thierry Bazerque, the Executive Assistant Manager, was incredibly welcoming and ensured every detail of our stay was perfect. Along with his dedicated staff, they truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home. For our Valentine’s dinner, we were delighted by a special, thoughtfully crafted menu that made the evening even more memorable. The food was exquisite, and the ambiance was simply magical. Our private suite had the most breathtaking view of Piton Canot, which we woke up to each morning. It was a peaceful retreat, with every corner of the room exuding comfort and charm. The highlight, however, was the bar with the best view ever—perfect for sunset cocktails! Watching the sun dip behind the mountains while sipping on drinks was an experience we’ll cherish forever. Lakaz Chamarel truly offers an unparalleled combination of luxury, tranquility, and excellent service. Thierry and his team made our stay extra special, and we can’t wait to return! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a romantic and unforgettable escape.

Lovely setting and the staff were amazing. We stayed in the piton suite, did not want to leave. Hope to return again sometime.

I don't often write these reviews but wanted to do one for Lakaz Chamarel because our experience there was outstanding in every way. My daughter and me had a standard room each, and they were ideal for our needs with open air bathrooms, comfortable beds and plenty of space. Everything was spotless, beautifully designed and laid out. The rooms also had great terraces outside overlooking the stunning and well maintained grounds which are full of birds, fruit bats, lizards and other animals. The pool is beautiful, the food is excellent and the View Bar with its gorgeous views out to sea is a fantastic place to start your evening. There are other facilities like a small open air gym and a really useful shuttle service down to Le Morne beach. You can also easily walk into Chamarel village with its restaurants and unusual attractions like the Curious Corner of Chamarel and the Ebony Forest, from where you can walk back to the lodge via the nearby Piton Canot, which has amazing views from the top. We weren't sure Mauritius would be for us, but this place really won us over. Unfortunately, we could only stay for three nights but we'll be back with the rest of the family again soon for longer visit. This isn't just because of everything the lodge has to offer but because of the staff who were the real highlight of our stay. All of them were friendly, happy people. They genuinely seemed to enjoy their work and did everything they could to make our time with them special - thanks to all of them!

We weren’t expecting to stay here - it was booked by the tour company as part of a tour. I am so glad they chose this place. From arrival the staff could not do enough to make us feel welcome; everything had a personal touch. We were upgraded to a lodge with its own pool, secluded in the forest. The room was very comfortable and had everything needed to make the stay perfect. Very relaxing sitting on the terrace watching the wildlife or having a dip in the pool. The food was amazing too, the samosa bar snacks, very tasty breakfast and the evening meal were all full of flavour and very well made. We watched the sunset at the view bar with the large bats flying round. We would have happily stayed here longer, we were so impressed with the resort

Had a mesmerizing moment stay down in this very calm and quiet place... Thierry and the team were at their best to make our stay an unforgettable one... Will definitely advise for a break!!! Food was awesome... Amazing crew... The place to be!
