Blue Beryl Guest House

The location is perfect. The beautiful Blue Bay beach is just round the corner. I chose a room with the sea view and it was magical 🥰. The sunrise was amazing! The room is little bit old but enough for my holidays. Taxi driver Jaun is the best. You must ask for him, he’ll guide you everywhere with lots of explanations. He’s clever, smart, with a bid smile, knows a lot about history and botanic and tries to serve you the best. I’m sure you’ll love him.

Ich buchte diese Unterkunft, weil mein Abflug nach Hause schon um 8.00 Uhr war. Ich hatte zuvor schon Kontakt, weil ich um einen Topper für meine Matratze bat. Das Guest Haus liegt sehr zentral und hat einen schönen Vorgarten mit einigen Parkplätzen. Alle Damen, mit denen ich es zu tun hatte, waren ohne jede Ausnahme sehr freundlich. Das Zimmer ist ausreichend groß und war sehr sauber. Man brachte mir auch noch eine andere Matratze, auf der ich dann wunderbar geschlafen habe. Die Damen waren so sehr um das Wohl der Gäste bemüht, es war besonders. Das Frühstück hatte richtig heißen Filterkaffee, „richtige Brötchen“, süßes sowieso und Eier frisch nach Wahl. Käse war auch vorhanden. Alles wunderbar. Besonders erwähnen möchte ich Chovishka, sie ist wohl die jüngste und traue ihr eine erfolgreiche Karriere zu, so pfiffig und aufmerksam war sie. Nous y avons séjourné 4 nuits au total. Points positifs : les pieds dans l'eau où le contraste de la roche volcanique et l'océan est juste à coupé le souffle et l'avantage c'est que cette maison d'hôtes est à 10-15 minutes de l'aéroport. Le petit-déjeuner était correct et tout le reste méritait un sérieux rafraichissement. Le personnel est vraiment très agréable et nos logements étaient propres.

We upgraded to a beach view room (best advice), as the wind came up but we could still enjoy the ocean from our room and balcony. Room is small, common space has picnic benches to sit at (not comfortable to lounge in) but fine if the weather is good. Solar geyser which sometimes leaves the shower tepid. But this was only probelm on overcast days and they were able to switch over to electric on those days. But you have to ask for it. The best past is that you can walk straight onto the beach from accommodation and go snorkeling, and see amazing ocean life, even when it is windy or cool. and after you are meters away from your room. Petit Guest House en bordure d'une petite plage rocailleuse, jolie vue, coucher de soleil. Pas de repas, hormi le petit déjeuner répétitif et simple. Terrasse à la disposition de la clientèle, on peut y apporter sa nourriture. Service de taxi, prix affichés, Ici vaut mieux tant en ce moment, on peut tomber sur des mal intentionnés. Chambre agréable, seulement, l'hôtel est situé en bordure de piste, alors les avions qui décollent... La climatisation fonctionne mais très bruyante et très lumineuse, du jamais vu, difficile de fermer l'œil.Même chose dans deux chambres différentes. Personnel serviable. Prix plutôt raisonnable pour Maurice. Resto juste à quelques minutes ou un peu plus loin... Mall de beau vallon 15 minutes de voiture.

We had a ground floor room with bathroom and small kitchen, also a terrace overlooking the sea. The guest house is right on a sandy beach, you just step on to the sand and then into the water to snorkel. The room was comfortable and breakfast was good with a choice including fresh croissants and omelette. There is plenty to do at Blue Bay including boat trips, also supermarkets and restaurants nearby. It is only 15 minutes from the airport so it is a great idea to stop there for a few days just after you arrive or before you depart. It was handy to have a car. The location is superb and we enjoyed relaxing on our terrace looking at the view over the lagoon to the reef. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We borrowed snorkelling equipment and deck chairs for the beach. Great value for money and we highly recommend it.
