I had a horrible experience with you over the December 2023 period. We booked 2 days with the Matopo Ingwe Lodge (14 to 16 December) and paid USD600 upfront in March 2023 as was requested. On arrival the team was totally unprepared and the reception and bar areas were horrible (as if they were never cleaned) and the room allocated to us was worse. It was duty, the beds were infested with spiders and bed bugs and my wife actually got bitten by one just as we were being shown the room. It was not habitable and we discussed with the supervisor (Malachi) and ended up decided to leave and sought alternative accommodation. It was not easy to get one but ended up with something in Bulawayo where I had to pay additional USD540. I was given the number of the manager/owner to discuss my refund and got in touch with him on 15 December 2023 and he promised to get back to me after finding out what happened, To date (8 January 2024), he is yet to get back to me and am wondering why Matopo Ingwe Lodge operates like this and if this is the type of service they do, How are they still in business.
