Incredible View and Experience Absolutely incredible experience - my receptionist called ahead to make sure I was not lost before check-in ended in the evening, offered complimentary water upon my arrival and helped fill out a map of areas to tour and visit. Room was incredibly unique, extremely comfortable and featured an incredible view! Definitely intend on returning in the future.

Great stay with a fantastic view The kindest staff! So accommodating and helpful. Also you just can’t beat the view and the history of the place. It was breath taking and I would definitely go back!

Wonderful stay! We loved our stay here! Antonella was super friendly and helpful both leading up to our stay and helping us plan our arrival and the options for parking (which are complex). She explained some history of the hotel and gave us a detailed map to tour the city. It was like having our own pre tour guide! The room was very clean, beautifully decorated with very comfortable beds and welcome air conditioning during a heat wave. A great location within the Sassi to walk around the historical centre.

Unique cave room Unique cave room that was well appointed. Though the bathroom was not physically in the bedroom it only had a frosted swinging glass door so not soundproof from bedroom. Sink for bathroom was in the bedroom that was ok with me but my husband did not like this layout.

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful historic city What an amazing place! This hotel is located on a cliff overlooking the ravine that bisects the historic town. The views are spectacular and it is convenient to many good restaurants. The staff is excellent and very helpful. A very good breakfast is served in a cave restaurant/bar above the hotel. Matera is worth a long visit; there is so much to see and do. We loved staying here!

Divine This hotel is in the best location in the sassi area, the rooms are heavenly. Views over the town are spectacular.

Besser geht kaum An diesem Hotel gibt es nichts auszusetzen: die Suite mit integrierter Grabungstätte, die Ausstattung, der Blick von der Terrasse auf Sassi, der Service ... Das alles hat seinen Preis, aber dieser ist es wert.

This property was gorgeous and clean. The room and view from the property was amazing. The staff was very welcoming and provided a lot of information about the city and about out specific room and the history. Definitely recommend staying here if you will be in Matera.

Sensational in every way! Fantastic location, stunning historic suite with equally stunning views from the terrace. Lovely, friendly staff that truely went above & beyond to make our stay so memorable. The Breakfast/Wine Bar attached was a wonderful place to sit and take in the amazing vistas and to enjoy complimentary breakfast every morning. Matera is such a unique place to visit but it is made even more special by staying at Palazzo Degli Abati.

Wo fange ich an? Beim überaus freundlichen Empfang durch kompetentes Personal? Bei der grandiosen Aussicht auf der Terrasse beim Apero? Beim spektakulären Zimmer? Bei der exzellenten Empfehlung für das Dinner? Bei der hervorragenden Erläuterung der Sights in Matera inkl Tourvorschlag? Beim sehr feinen Frühstück wieder auf der Terrasse? Ich weiß es nicht…es war einfach alles toll!!!! Gönnen Sie sich das Erlebnis! Und das Parken außerhalb mit Transfer bis vor die Haustür.

The room is a real cave. It is very comfortable, equipped with modern furniture. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The bathroom was large and modern. Very comfortable beds. Our room faced a terrace with a stunning view. The bistro on the terrace has, probably, the best place to have a drink with a great view of Matera.

Estadia incrível tipo caverna mesmo, bem legal. Só o banheiro que precisa de um pouco de privacidade e o chuveiro que deixa a desejar pelo dormi, molha bem o banheiro. Precisa ser feito algumas adequações poucas. O café é excepcional. Atendimento maravilhoso e vista sensacional.

Que hotel sensacional!!!! Em tudo! Fica localizado na parte história de Matera. Se for de carro, o hotel faz a reserva em um estacionamento próximo no qual você deixa o carro e é levado ao hotel na van do estacionamento. Fiquei num quarto que era uma caverna maravilhosa, bem moderna.ótima roupa de cama, toalhas e amenities. Muito cheiroso!! Café da manhã muito bom!
