"Hyvin hyvä oleskelu vietettiin Calypso Hotel de Matala. Henkilökunta on vieraanvarainen, hymyilevä, ja palvelullinen. Kotitalouden laatu on esimerkillinen, uima-allas on hyvin järjestetty, pääravintola on melko vaihteleva ja hyvä aamiaiseksi kuten illalliselle (puoli-eläke) ja useita aterioita tarjotaan uima-allasbaari aamiaiseksi. Les prix sont très corrects et la situation de l’hôtel est également très agréable (500m du petit centre-ville et de la plage). Varo, les photos que je voi voir sur TripAdvisor semblent être très vieux et plus d’actualité. L’hôtel a été restauré depuis et est bien plus moderne. Petit bémol pour les personnes qui n’ont pas l’habitude : Aux WC on demandé de déposer le papier toilette dans la poussière placée à proximité et non dans les toilettes directement. C’est assez perturbant quand on’ pas l’habitude de cela... mais le ménage est tellement qualifique et régulier que l’on ne même pas se comprendre."

"Matilan lähellä sijaitsevat hiljaiset puutarhat, tämä pieni asuntokompleksi on ihanteellinen rauhallinen oleskelu. Huone on mukavasti varustettu malli suihkuhuone, tv ja jääkaappi. On pieni parveke katsella puutarhoja. On todella kaunis uima-allas vieraiden käyttöön. Voimme pysäköidä vuokra-automme lähellä majoitusta ja kävellä kaupunkiin noin 15 minuutin kuluttua."

"excellent hostel, friendly people run by young people, they organise evenings such as eating out or pub crawls, etc. you can get a private room with a double bed and nice AC, there is a mini fridge, and right next to the bus stop if you are coming from heraklion bus station, you will have to change buses halfway through however"

Hotel Eva Marina ★★

"The 2* hotel is a few minutes from the beach and is perfect! I was there for 10 days at the end of May until 8th of June. My room was spotless, was cleaned every day by a very friendly young man and I got new sheets and towels every second day! The owners are so friendly and made me feel very welcome, their breakfast buffet and coffee was great. There were also some really tasty Greek delicacies in pastry and some Crêpes in Nutella! 😋 All in all I had a great stay and can highly recommend the Eva Marina!"

"Nothing like the photos on the booking sites. The room was old, dirty, and smelled bad. The staff was unpleasant, especially the owner and the receptionists. A tourist trap! There are other, much better hotels nearby."
