The most amazing riad. Great workers, the most wonderful breakfast and cooking class. Dinner cooked by Karima was more than delightful!! Great location, quite and peaceful, you could hear the bird singing Peter and all the staff were amazing, helpful and kind, Like all moroccans. Felt like beeing at home with your family. Hope I can come back!!!!

My husband and I stayed at Riad Dar Zaman for 3 nights in September. We additionally added a welcome dinner and the cooking classes to our stay. Overall, our stay was incredible!! The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly, the private room and public spaces were beautiful and quiet. Lots of great areas to unwind after the day, and the plunge pool was great after a day of sight seeing! The food served for both breakfast and lunch were delicious! The cooking class was a lot of fun! You get a lot of food for lunch, and learn a lot both on the tour and during the cooking class as well. It was a bit longer than originally quoted (we finished closer to 4.5 hrs), but was definitely worth the price! I would recommend Riad Dar Zaman for everyone, and I would definitely stay here every trip to Marrakech!

As lovers of both cooking and indulging in great food, we chose to take a cooking class during our Morocco visit. Nestled in the heart of Marrakech, the charming riad, Dar Zaman, welcomed us with open arms and an air of authenticity. A British expat, Peter, runs this delightful haven, which is adorned with rich Moroccan décor that tells stories with every detail. Our culinary adventure began with a vibrant stroll through the local market, where Peter guided us in gathering the freshest ingredients for our feast. It was a sensory overload—spices, colors, and sounds dancing in the air. Back at the riad, we were greeted by our charismatic cooking instructors, Hassane and Sakina. Hassane, ever the multi-tasker, also graciously took on the role of photographer, capturing our kitchen escapades with flair. Together, we chopped, mixed, and learned the delicate art of Moroccan cuisine. The result? A meal not just delicious, but deeply connected to the soul of Morocco. As we dined in the serene courtyard, we marveled not only at the flavors on our plates but also at the rich history and tradition behind every spice and technique. Thank you, Dar Zaman, for making this experience the true highlight of our 15-day journey through Morocco. It wasn’t just a class—it was a culinary immersion we’ll never forget.

Came here for a cooking lesson & got so much more. We were recommended this place by a blog for a cooking lesson, little did we know we’d get a tour, history & some of the best food we’ve ever tasted included. 10/10 - a must when visiting Marrakech

Estupendo Riad, con un trato esmerado. Establecimiento pequeño, de tan solo 4 habitaciones, dispone de aire acondicionado. Una restauración acertada del inmueble, y una decoración muy agradable, lo convierten en un local recomendable para una escapada en esta ciudad. En cualquier caso, destacaría especialmente el cuidado con el que todo el personal nos ha atendido.

We loved our stay here and were delighted by the hospitality. Karima’s food was excellent and Hassan’s tips invaluable. Hamza’s kindness and company a pleasure. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Overall a welcome respite from the hustle of the city. Loved the terrace….

We have just returned from a wonderful 7 night stay at Riad Dar Zaman. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were taken care of. As a family of four we had two of the rooms and it almost felt like we had our own personal riad. The rooms were very comfortable and tastfully decorated. The breakfasts were beautiful and served on the terrace which was a wonderful start to our day. The staff were all so friendly and there was always someone on hand to provide chilled water or mint tea! The little plunge pool was also most welcome at the end of a hot day exploring. We did the Atlas Mountains Trip, Essaouira Beach and the cooking class all of which were great. As part of the cooking class Peter provided a very interesting tour of the food markets and some local history which was facinating. The cooking class was fun and we had an extremely tasty lunch to eat afterwards! The riad is in a good location for all the main sites. We did get a bit lost a couple of times but the maps.me app was really helpful as recommended by the riad staff. We also had a great recommedation from Peter for a day pass at the Beldi Country Club to use their lovely pools all set in beautiful gardens. A wonderful last day to our holiday. In summary we would thorougholy recommend and a big thank you to Peter, Hanza, Adil and Karima.

Riad Dar Zaman was an incredible stay. The team was so accommodating, making our comfortability and happiness priority #1. Less than 5 minute walk from the souk markets and easy to catch a taxi to anywhere else. Can't recommend this Riad enough.
