El Fenn

Extremely basic for the price. Noisy at night. Breakfast was served in broken chipped cups and plates. Tables sticky because they had not been cleaned. Rooftop service & food was limited.

Loved this place Have wanted to come here for years and it didn’t disappoint! Beautiful, calm, friendly

I had heard about this place being very new and chic, and wanted to go. I went there and asked to go have a drink, or at least to see it, they asked if I had a reservation, and when I said that I didn't. They wouldn't allow us in. I tried calling a few times to reserve, and got no answer. Finally, I walked in, and explained that I'd not gotten an answer, they apologised and said that they're so busy that it's hard for them to keep up. They let us go up to the beautiful roof top in the end for a snack. The place was EMPTY! More tables were empty than occupied. It was too hot and sunny to be comfortable, most of the clients were there to be seen as being cool. The menu is very uninspired, the one thing that appealed to me was a veggie burger. We waited long enough to order that by the time someone came to do that, we'd had enough and left.

From the moment you walk through the doors into the hotel, you’re surrounded by bright & tasteful interiors, artwork and gorgeous pops of colour. We fell in love with this hotel instantly and the staff were incredible at making us feel welcome and right at home. We were lucky enough to try out two rooms at El Fenn and both were divine. Each room in El Fenn is unique and different and I loved the extra touch of having a fireplace in the bedroom to make you feel extra cosy. The bathtubs come with salt & dried roses to make for an extra decadent experience and the beds were incredibly comfortable with about a gazillion pillows. The hotel is a peaceful and serene space, located in the centre of Marrakech, which is perfect for exploring the main sights and souks by foot. We especially loved waking up early to watch the sunrise on the terrace before breakfast and having cocktails on the rooftop to watch the sun go down. Make sure to ask the front desk for food recommendations as they gave us some fantastic non touristy spots which were some of our favourite meals. The resident cats are also incredibly cute. The roof terrace has a great atmosphere and the cocktails are delicious. You won’t regret staying here and I couldn’t recommend it enough, we didn’t want to leave! :-)

Een oase van luxueuze rust in een turbulente omgeving, dat is El Fenn. Aan de rand van de medina gelegen en als je naar binnen loopt kom je in een relaxte authentieke omgeving waar je je totaal gepamperd voelt. Prachtig ingericht, goede sfeer, fijn personeel en een heerlijke kamer. Meer hadden we niet nodig. Eén dingetje: de laatste ochtend ging er van alles mis met het ontbijt. De helft was er niet, de andere helft duurde nogal lang. Viel des te meer op omdat de andere ochtenden het perfect was geregeld. Al met al: absolute aanrader.

This is THE only hotel to stay at in Marrakech. The interiors are incredible!
