Riad Dar Saad - Hammam & Spa

Our weekend at Riad dar saad was wonderful in every way. It is a fairytale place where we also experienced the Hammam. We appreciated all the services: the restaurant, the transfer to and from the airport, the excursion in the desert but above all the experience of the city tour with the driver they provided, a complete and perfect tour to discover all the highlights of Marrakech. highly recommended

Before booking this riad, I strongly encourage you to read the other negative reviews. Unfortunately, our experience mirrors many of them, particularly regarding the owner’s aggressive and threatening behavior. Our stay started off well, and I want to acknowledge that the general staff were lovely—helpful, polite, and professional. However, the same cannot be said for the owner and his daughter, whose behavior completely overshadowed our experience. Early on, there was a mix-up on my end regarding a charge on my card. I mistakenly thought they had charged me in advance, but when I realised my error, I immediately apologised. There was no hostility, just a simple inquiry. We also encountered minor inconveniences, like the shower requiring a specific technique to work, but we adapted without issue. However, problems escalated when my wife had a terrible experience at the spa—she found the room freezing, the products cheap, and the staff inattentive. Based on her feedback, I went to cancel my own appointment and two others we had booked. I was told they needed to check with the owner due to a 50% cancellation charge. Another issue arose when we changed rooms halfway through our stay. When we went to collect the key for the new room, they attempted to charge us for it again, despite the fact that we had already paid in full upfront upon checking in. When I politely questioned this, they became pushy and aggressive. I showed them my bank statement as proof, but they insisted I hadn’t paid. Only when they went to retrieve their own receipt did they finally confirm that I had, in fact, already paid. Now, mistakes happen, and I can forgive this one—but the way they handled it, with immediate hostility rather than a simple check of their records, was completely unacceptable. The worst moment, however, was when the owner and his daughter came to our room and aggressively confronted us over the spa cancellations. They began shouting at us, making absurd accusations, including calling us “racist” (which made no sense as my wife is Native South American and I am Irish i.e. we are in a mixed race relationship). They also made ignorant generalisations, saying, “you English are all the same.” When I corrected them, explaining I was Irish, they dismissively responded, “same thing.” Their anger was so extreme that my children, while not crying, were clearly distressed and confused as to why a grown man was screaming in our room. I have traveled extensively and have never experienced such unprofessional and intimidating behavior from a hotel owner. No guest should be subjected to this, especially in front of their family. There are so many beautiful riads in Marrakesh with warm, welcoming hosts—this is not one of them. For the sake of your holiday, I strongly recommend choosing a different place to stay.

Abbiamo trascorso la prima settimana di novembre in Marocco e ci siamo sentiti come fossimo a casa nostra in questo Riad. Personale super cortese sempre a disposizione per ogni nostra evenienza, pulizia eccellente, cibo squisito! Una menzione va all'escurisione nel deserto che abbiamo prenotato presso loro: un'esperienza unica! E un ringraziamento speciale va alla simpatia e competenza del nostro personal driver Ahmed, riuscendo a venirci incontro ad ogni nostra richiesta e rimanendo costantemente a nostra disposizione! Stra-consigliato!!!

we stayed three nights in the perfect karfa room with comfort, equipment, breakfast, kind and helpful staff, it seemed like a nice 4-star riad but we returned for one night, the hotel was full, we paid almost double the price of the suite we were given a terrace room which looked like an enclosed veranda with curtains that let in the light, no privacy, there was no hairdryer, there were no heavy blankets, there was no wardrobe, no clothes hanger, no kettle, no tea set, the air conditioning didn't work in the morning we explained the problems and instead of understanding our discomfort we were attacked by claiming that they had no complaints. the standard of a 4 star suite in Morocco is not respected I strongly advise against anyone attracted by this riad from going for the final treatment we received, we paid and we demand respect. It's a shame to have booked directly and paid at midnight, they were rude and unprofessional

J’ai passé une expérience incroyable ! Le service est impeccable, tout est pensé dans les moindres détails pour rendre le séjour parfait. L’équipe est très accueillante et attentionnée, toujours prête à aider avec le sourire. Je recommande vivement pour ceux qui cherchent un service de qualité supérieure. Very horrible experience at this riad. AVOID at all cost, very rude and unprofessional staff. We did not stay at the riad, which is a blessing considering how we treated from the brief encounter we had with them. We wanted to book a hamman and after viewing their website, we visited the riad (a road away from our current riad) to book a hamman and a message. We were greeted nicely by a gentleman and the owner, after we inquired about the services, we booked 2 days in advance. Our last day in Marrakech. We were un sure if it was at 6 or 6:30 so we decided around 5 to stop by and confirm the time. To our surprise, they didn't book the time slots for us as the one who took our booking the first time forgot to ask for our email or a deposit. We were very disappointed of course. After discussing it with a nice lady, she had found a time slot for only the hamman in 40mins time. Even though we wanted the message as well, we agreed and went upstairs to wait in the terrace. 10mins into waiting, the man who booked us the first time, came to apologise. Okay. 5 mins later, the RUDE owner came up telling us that we were lying!! That in fact he had asked us for the email or deposit, which he did not. Very rude and unprofessional and making us feel crazy. If they did ask for an email or a deposit, we would have obliged of course. We felt very offended and do not recommend this riad of this rude unprofessional man to anyone. Choose wisely and do NOT choose Riad Dar Saad.
