"We booked the The Old Town House for a weekend stay for a friends wedding. It was a great choice of location in the Old Town with lovely cafes on the doorstep for breakfast and a stones throw from the sea front. A compact room with everything we needed. Excellent air conditioning on the hottest day of the year in the current heatwave. Exceptionally clean room, serviced each day with clean towels. Easy check in and Mark the owner was very helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend if planning a stay in Margate. We would definitely have a return visit."

"On first checking in everything looked fine. On checking further found the whole house quite grubby, especially downstairs shower room, floor was very dirty, everything needs a deep clean, for the money charged would have thought this would be top of the list. Shame because the beds were very comfortable and linen clean, as were towels."

"Stayed many times iin Premier Inn's so you know what you are in for. Excellent location next to the train station and just a couple of minutes to the beach and town centre. Good sized rooms which look to have been fairly recently updated? First Premier Inn I've been to with no reception so self check in which I imagine could get busy at peak times but staff around to help. Restaurant not the biggest so finding table could be an issue in the main part of the summer but no problem for me this time. Onsite parking £3 per day."

"We stayed at Fort Road Hotel for two nights in April 2026 for our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding, and it couldn’t have worked out better. The whole wedding party took over the hotel, which made it feel really special and personal. The rooms were lovely - nicely decorated without being over the top - and the beds were very comfortable. It was just a really easy place to relax in between all the celebrations. Breakfast was great both mornings, with plenty to choose from, and everything was fresh and well done. The staff were friendly and helpful, and nothing felt like too much trouble, even with a full wedding group there. All in all, it was a brilliant place for such an important family occasion, and we’d happily stay again."

"We came to Margate to escape the heat wave in London, and this was the only hotel in Old Town Margate that has Air con! We happily discovered how fabulous this hotel is— dreamy bed and bedding, renovated bathroom with a gorgeous shower, curtains to keep out the light which were perfect for sleeping late. Easy check-in and helpful recommendations from the hotel owner! In short, a perfect stay! Highly recommend."
