First Group Margate Sands

Uncomfortable stay The noise level from the pool kept us awake my child could not get to bed.The pool closure time should be brought earlier than 10pm.There should be more activities for the kids the game room as advertised was not found on the property.The wet floors of residents going up and down from beach and pool hazardous ,cleaners should be on duty to attend to this,it was always filthy.My bathroom ceiling was broken and there was no filter to dry our bathroom up after taking a shower too much dampness.

A good family apartment Helpful friendly service, although this property is probably quite old maybe 20yrs old it has been maintained very well, linen of a high standard and comfortable tv dst channels work well and free wi-fi works well. Would recommend for a family holiday.

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND FACILITIES AT MARGATE SANDS. We hosted an educational /Team building workshop for 60 delegates. Resort Manager Mr Gomo was very accommodating, empathetic and professional in handling all our needs. Special mention of Ms Abigail who serviced us beyond her call of duty. It's disappointing when a hotel doesn't live up to its star rating. It seems like your experience fell far short of your expectations, and the only redeeming quality was the view. It's frustrating when accommodations don't meet the standards they advertise. I truly despised the fact that we were required to adhere to a timetable for water usage in the building. Additionally, halfway through preparing dinner, we were hit by load shedding, and despite the presence of backup generators, they failed to function, leaving us waiting for almost two hours until power was restored. Moreover, despite the hotel's rules prohibiting noise and drinking around the pool, these rules were flagrantly violated for about four hours with no intervention from staff. When I attempted to address the issue of load shedding with hotel staff, one intoxicated individual from the pool confronted me aggressively, as if looking for a fight. I tried to leave the hotel immediately after check-in due to the water crisis, which was only disclosed after I had already made payment. However, my request for a refund was met with refusal. As someone with many years of experience in the hospitality industry, I am sorry to say that this experience was nothing short of a disgrace.

Margate Sands was a great little break for me and the family to getaway for the weekend. From the booking process with Pearl and the check-in with reception everyone was so helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay fabulous. Our room was neat, clean and beautiful, we really enjoyed the the sea view and swimming pool on site. Will definitely be back in the future.

On arrival i was not pleased with the position of my apartment as i am used to a few apartments which I always book. Although it was fully booked, Slindile immediately after hearing my conversation took me to 2 apartments to choose from. I was very impressed with it. Resolved in about 10 minutes. Excellent service.
