La Fonda Heritage Hotel Luxury, Relais & Châteaux

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was outstanding. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and helpful, always ready to assist with anything we needed. On the day we were leaving, they even prepared a little snack box for our 2-year-old—without us even asking—which was such a thoughtful touch. Breakfast in the charming patio was a real highlight, and the breakfast team were just as wonderful—so kind and attentive. Our room was beautiful, spacious, spotless, and had everything we could possibly need. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended, and the location in the heart of the historic centre is simply perfect

La Fonda es el lugar !!! Absolutamente recomendable para quienes buscan un hotel excelente con un ambiente tranquilo para disfrutar del lujo silencioso en estado puro. Todo el personal es maravilloso, se desvive para hacer que te sientas como en casa, cuidan cada detalle para que tu estancia sea inolvidable. La habitación 4 es preciosa, amplia, confortable y con vistas a la plaza. Sin ningún lugar a dudas repetiremos nuestra estancia en La Fonda cada vez que visitemos Marbella.

Fuimos a cenar todo fue perfecto y luego subimos al Sky bar ,los cócteles muy ricos y la atención perfecta ..terraza con vistas ambiente y atención servicial y amable..lo recomiendo 10/10

We stayed four nights in this Marbella Old Town hotel. It has been beautifully carved from buildings dating back to the sixteenth century and completely renovated just over two years ago. Original features including magnificent brickwork columns, murals and even two ancient trees have been tastefully incorporated in the refurbishment to making a stylish blend of ancient and modern. Our bed was very comfortable and the shower room beautifully designed and maintained. The room was slightly cramped and lacked a desk, but this is a price worth paying in a historic building like this. The view over the charming square more than compensated. Food, wine and service in the main restaurant was excellent. Well up to Michelin standard and a deserving destination in its own right. The sky bar with its views over the Old Town to the Mediterranean to the South and of the mountains to the North made the perfect place for pre or post dinner drinks. Finally, I would like to mention the staff who were impeccable – professional, friendly and attentive but with no hind of intrusiveness. This hotel is a real gem.

Check in was smooth and Matteo was warm and helpful, as well as helpfully assisting us with reservations and with an issue we experienced at checkout. The room is tastefully decorated and furnished. Shower has good pressure. Location is brilliant. Some minor issues which could further improve this great hotel and its offering. Towels look worn - could be fluffier and fresher. Bath mat was yellowed. As space can be limited in the rooms, simple touches like hooks on the back of doors could be useful for hanging etc At breakfast, food at the buffet is of a very small variety, especially for vegetarians, but quality is good. The a la carte options could be of a higher standard. On the first day, my French toast were uncooked, were cold, with the eggy liquid still raw. My husband’s eggs were not over easy as requested, and seemed in need of more oil as they looked quite dry. On the second day, it took a long time for our egg order to come through even though we were initially the only ones at breakfast. The highlight however is the courtyard setting which is peaceful and cool (before the heat of the day), as well as the friendly and attentive staff. I think the turndown service is around 5-6pm - at least that’s when housekeeping came on the two days we were there. But this is too early - it would be better for them to come during late evening when everyone is at dinner. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. So much so that we wish we had stayed at the prior hotel for fewer nights so that we could have stayed at La Fond longer. Would recommend.

Such nice food - quality is amazing but do book! We have had several meals here and never been disappointed. Fabulous setting, amazing staff, upmarket and correctly priced. Well done. Don’t change! The music is always good and not overwhelming. Can’t complain about anything.
