Marari Beach Resort Alleppey- a CGH Earth Experience

Amazing Stay at this hotel. Awesome staff great installations and rooms. The food is great. 100% recomendable for some peaceful days.

Good to stay with family

A lovely location with direct access to the clean beach. Well tended gardens and rooms are individual villas. Very spacious villas, with semi open air bathrooms. This lends an air of excitement (or anxiety) to a visit to the bathroom, especially after dark, as you cannot be sure what you may find lurking ! The hotel has got a lot of anti mosquito measures, such as lemon grass and citronella sticks to burn in the bathroom and on the veranda, and repellent for you to use on your skin offered in the rooms. Take precautions and you should be fine. The food in the main buffet restaurant we found to be excellent. Live music most evenings. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Lovely large clean swimming pool. Some included activities every day. The Spa is worth a visit too. Very different massage to anything I’ve sampled elsewhere in the world.

Strange atmosphere, something like a holiday camp crossed with a care home. We had travelled round Goa and Kerula for four weeks staying in boutique hotels, small, quaint, pretty. Marari beach resort was a bit of a shock. Pleasant staff, easy check in and out but still a bit impersonal. Probably too big for us. Laundry prices were a scandal, priced by individual items, we had become used to laundry by the Kilo at very low cost. Meals were hugely expensive. The one we had on arrival was four times the local prices and no better quality. The rest of our stay we ate at a nearby Fisherman’s beach shack or one at a bike rides distance. Much better value. The bikes were very good, except they all had crossbars, so my wife had difficulty getting on. A few decent womens bikes would help. The pool is excellent, warm and deep. The beach is empty. A few sun shades to go with the loungers would have been good. The bungalows are very comfortable.

Thasi is our second time at this wonderful resort. We were even given " I am home" T shirts to wear. We spent 4 nights ot luxury after a hectic multi centre trip around India. Great villa, perfect staff, special beach and a geat resturant. No plastic anywhere and everything being recycled. Special thanks to all the staff who excellent. Snehal Moon went well beyond normal levels of service when she helped me write and send a condolence letter to the family of an Indian friend. It was very emotional . She is a star!

This was a relaxing end to our Kerala tour. We’d pushed the boat out and opted for a pool villa which was spacious and suited my partners disability well. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. The food was generally delicious and plentiful albeit rather expensive. Options to dine out were few and far between. We participated in several of the complimentary activities including butterfly walk ( lots of mosquitoes so protection essential) , owl parliament walk with very knowledgable guide Shibu, cookery demonstration and yoga class which was enjoyable but quite a challenge. We also enjoyed socialising with other guests at the complimentary afternoon tea cart. The resort is set on a quiet , clean stretch of beach - the ocean was warm and marshalled responsibly. We’d love to return in the future
