Tulemar Resort

We had an absolutely amazing honeymoon at Tulemar. All of the arrangements were so easy because of our concierge Miguel - he handled scheduling our transportation from the airport, all of our tours/excursions, and helped with locating different spots locally. The views, food, wildlife, and bungalow were incredible. I’ll be back.

Great experience, first trip to Costa Rica, and couldn't have been happier with our stay at Tulemar. Support and service from our Concierge Fabio was tip-top, appreciated his suggestions and diligence in grabbing reservations for us, arranging a guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park, or the private chef that totally nailed a delicious home-cooked meal. Sloths, monkeys, iguanas, and birds everywhere. Loved it.

We picked this resort because we had heard really great things about it. I'd love to give it a 5, but there were a couple of issues during our stay. Firts of all, I feel like the website describing the Casa de La Flores was misleading. There is an upstairs and a downstairs and they use the word enclosed staircase to connect the two levels. This is not true. My kids' bedroom downstairs was connected by a stairwell to a door to our room, but the stairs could be reached by anyone walking by (more on that later). The only way to lock the door was from the outside. So they had to have a key to get out or we had to have a key to get in. Then when they walked up the steps, there was another door that locked. But none of the keys provided to us worked for them to unlock. My husband ended up staying downstairs in the 2 double beds with 1 kid and I stayed upstairs with the 2 others so we could lock all the doors. Upon arrival, we dropped our stuff off in the room and everyone but me went for a walk. I was upstairs the entire time. When they got back, my daughter's phone was missing from her bed downstairs. We looked everywhere, thinking she must have put it someone else in the casa. We didnt find it and all location services on her phone were showing not connected to internet, which I know she had already done when we arrived. I let the front desk know that her phone was missing and perhaps stolen. The assured me something like this has NEVER happened. They also do not have security cameras for the guest houses/villas. We went to be the first night really nervous about the entire situation. We think someone slipped in the room downstairs while I was upstairs and took the phone off the bed. The next day our suspensions were confirmed when there were unauthorized charges put on her phone. The front desk kept saying they were working on it, but really was never able to give us any idea as to what could have happened. They were kind enough to upgrade our room for the last two night to a casa with only 1 entrance. I felt much better being in that space. The food was delicious. The staff was incredible. The constant construction within the resort was less than relaxing.

We stayed 3 nights in Dulce Vida Studio. Please have your walking legs ready to get there...all uphill! The Studio was beautiful, however the bathroom situation is a bit strange. Photos are taken from the shower, ( hello neighbors) and the toilet. 🙄 See our neighbor in the background? We unfortunately didn't have the greatest experience with our concierge. Hurried check-in and only comuninicated when HE had questions. Unfortunately, the only time I reached out, we had run out of toilet paper at 6am. We only had 1/2 roll left in our bathroom & he never responded. Constant construction on many properties during our stay and VERY noisey. ( The singing construction workers were somewhat entertaining 😂) Overall, wouldn't recommend visiting the resort in September (rainy season) and wouldn't recommend the studio.

I visit Manual Antonio every year, and I always stay at Tulemar. Such an amazing destination that immerses you in the stunning beauty of nature as it should be. Breathtaking views of the ocean, from your very own treehouse, with monkeys and sloths on your balcony! All of the staff are friendly and welcoming, making you feel like family. Fabio, from Tulemar's VIP Guest Services, went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed for my stay. Their on site restaurant ( Tule Cafe) is fantastic! All of the food is fresh and reasonably priced, I ate there for almost all of my meals. Hands down, my favorite destination, which is why I return again and again!

We recently stayed at Tulemar Resort in Manuel Antonio, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. Laura was exceptional, ensuring our stay was comfortable and even arranging a private tour of the National Park. Throughout our stay, we had several requests, and Laura promptly addressed each one. The resort’s private beach is a significant advantage. It was uncrowded, and David at the beach provided amenities like towels and chairs with great efficiency. Shuttle service was also timely, with minimal waiting whether we were at our room or the beach. Special thanks to Jorge, who was incredibly helpful. One suggestion for improvement would be to enhance the path from the parking lot to the beach. The current slope might be challenging for seniors on the way back. Other than that, the beach is fantastic. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I highly recommend Tulemar Resort in Manuel Antonio.

Tulemar … a “Piece of Paradise” My wife and I just recently returned from our 1 week stay at Tulemar and are already planning our next trip back. To say that this was one of our favorite all time vacations would be an underatatement! From the very beginning ... the planning of our trip with the exceptional aid of our wonderful concierge, Fabio Perez from Tulemar VIP Guest Services, was thorough and easy. Fabio was able to cater our trip to our specific needs and was flexible to make changes when we needed them made … from transportation to excursions to dinner reservations and more … all was taken care of quickly and with a Pura Vida attitude. The Tulemar accommodations are superb. Our specific bungalow had a 270° view with wrap around windows and a balcony with reclining chairs that faced our Pacific Ocean view. We were tucked right into the hillside jungle and were surrounded with the local wildlife within an arms reach. These included: Squirrel monkeys, Capuchin monkeys and Howler monkeys all whom visited us almost daily on our balcony during our stay. We even had our own resident sloth right outside our kitchen window not to mention the exotic Scarlett Macaws that sometimes roosted in the tree right at our front door. If you are looking to experience Costa Rica’s plentiful wildlife you need to go no further than the Tulemar. Our first full day on the property included a Private dinner in our bungalow prepared by Chef Jose’ … an experience that shouldn’t be missed. Another “on property” experience was the 2 hour “Sloth Institute Walk” which is for Tulemar guests only. I had never seen a Sloth up till now and we saw over a dozen that morning and also learned quite a lot about from these interesting creatures from our informative guide. The Most of our breakfasts and lunches were taken at the affordable Tulemar Cafe, a short walk from our bungalow. The food is exceptional and the open air seating puts you right along the “Monkey Highway”. We had an incredible wildlife show at almost every meal. And if you are up at the Cafe and aren’t ready to eat…just drop into their “infinity pool” with a cocktail and take in the show. Fabio’s suggestions for tours and dinner reservations were spot on and we truly feel we got the most out of our vacation with his help. Not to mention all the other staff we encountered at the Tulemar from servers, guides to housekeeping. Everyone was committed to make sure our stay was a memorable one … and it was! Tulemar was INCREDIBLE. The wildlife, the food, the views, the activities, the accommodations--all of it was just wonderful. We traveled as a family of 4, and Laura was our assigned concierge. She was just a tremendously capable, kind, and effective coordinator and recommender! We loved every minute of this trip and were so grateful to all of the staff, and to Laura in particular, for all of her hard work that made this such a wonderful family vacation. I would highly recommend Tulemar to anyone!

L’hôtel est sur un site sublime, mais que c’est cher!!! Les bungalows sont ravissants, nichés dans une nature tropicale luxuriante, les singes sautent partout autour, les oiseaux chantent… la plage en contrebas est juste sublime! mais à ce prix là, tout doit être nickel!! Les meubles de chambres un peu abîmés, la douche aussi… ça fait pas net! Mais le pire est le tarif de la restauration! Même au petit déjeuner, la the est facturé !! Ça donne l’impression d’être un pigeon… donc c’est très beau, mais il faut y aller en sachant que la note va être salée…
