_Disappointing Experience at Ocean Pearl Mangaluru_ I recently stayed at the Ocean Pearl Mangaluru with my family, checking in on 19th at 1500 hrs. While the check-in experience was smooth, our stay was marred by a horrific experience of food poisoning. We had lunch at the hotel's restaurant, Coral, around 1600 hrs, ordering chicken and mutton biryani. Our previous meal was before 9 am, and we hadn't eaten anything after lunch. However, after midnight, we all started showing symptoms of food poisoning, including diarrhea, severe vomiting, and abdominal cramps. We checked out of the hotel on 20th, still experiencing symptoms. Unfortunately, our condition worsened, and we had to be hospitalized on 21st after reaching home. Medical tests, including blood tests and stool examinations, were conducted, and the results confirmed that we had contracted a Bacillus infection, a type of bacterial food poisoning. When I contacted the hotel during our stay, the initial response was satisfactory, with the restaurant manager and duty manager attending to us and helping us procure medication. However, things took a turn for the worse when the General Manager (GM) and Executive Chef arrived. They denied any responsibility for the food poisoning, despite my technical explanations. The GM became arrogant and aggressive, asking me to check out when I requested compensation. He even threatened me, saying he didn't care and that I couldn't prove the food poisoning was caused by the hotel. The GM's behavior was appalling, and it's shocking that a hotel of this caliber would respond so insensitively to a serious food poisoning incident. As a result of their negligence, my family, including a child, suffered severely, and we had to undergo medical treatment. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I hope that the management takes immediate action to address their food safety and customer service issues. Rating: 1/5 stars
