Dejligt historisk hus. Smukke værelser. Renlighed mangler måske det sidste. Du skal dele bad med andre. Dejlig morgenmad. Meget hjælpsom vært.

Wonderful house
Loved it. Beautiful house and very well kept. The food was great. Laura, the owner, is super friendly and looks out for her guests. We had an amazing time.
Our room specifically had pros and cons.
Pros: top floor so no one walking on your head. Private shower/bathroom. Fridge and microwave. Snacks and other useful items provided. Very comfortable and adorable.
Cons: Because it's the top floor, they were small windows at floor level (still let in a lot of light). Small shower which was fine for us but might be tough for some.
I'd stay her again for sure!

This is a gorgeous old house and the indoor areas are beautiful and well-kept. Outdoor areas are in need of maintenance. We came to this B&B expecting old house charm, some stories and a good breakfast. We came in and were immediately told that breakfast boxes are in the fridge. I asked about the breakfast and got two different answers: They don’t serve any hot breakfast or that the owner had a doctor appointment and could’t serve it. The rooms were quite chilly but only one of them had a heater. There are no locks in the room doors. It seems that the owner’s had their minds in other things than hosting us, as she told us they are moving abroad. If you are a breakfast person like us, you might want to double check before booking that you will actually get one. Kids seemed welcome in this B&B.

The place is beautiful. I’ve only stayed there for one night on a work trip, but I got to enjoy the outdoors with a coffee in the afternoon, an amazing home cooked breakfast and a lovely chat with the owner. The room was exactly as pictured, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was so cute! It’s a real bed and breakfast, you feel home and welcomed. A unique property that’s worth a stay!

This historic 1850 mansion was a chance to step back in time, but with modern conveniences such surreptitiously tucked in. The breakfasts were so sumptuous and hearty that we did not need to eat again until late in the afternoon. We were served on dinnerware that made me feel I was playing a role in Downton Abbey (but American style!). The host Lori had all sorts of interesting local lore and history to add and made the breakfast that much more enjoyable. Recommend this highly!

Emig Mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and fits in with the other 19th-century buildings along George Street. The building is raised above street level, with stairs leading up to one of two front doors. There is parking at the side and in the back where stairs lead down to an entrance. The side parking overlooks a soothing fountain and connects to a level walk, also leading to the back entrance. The grandeur of the place is quite visible, though there it could benefit from a touch-up of the paint on the trim, and weeding and trimming around the property. The Mansion generates fond memories in the community as related by one of the staff at a nearby restaurant who had their wedding reception there. Hopefully, some fixing up is underway before the summer season starts.

We had the best time here. The property is absolutely beautiful, the hostess is wonderful, and the property has an incredible historic significance to boot! The rooms were beautiful too. This was one of the best stays we have experienced.

No way to lock room door when leaving mansion and no secure place to leave valuables.
No bedroom smoke detector nor any evacuation instructions in the event of an emergency.
No one to greet us at check-in and no personal contact with anyone until morning of departure.
Contactless check-in email instructions were helpful but lacked precise location of room (i.e. 1st room on right) and room was not clearly marked
Poorly maintained outside landscaping.
WILL NOT RETURN AGAIN!!!
