My stay at Mopani Safari Lodge was an unforgettable experience that beautifully blended with the raw beauty of the African wilderness. The safari drives were the highlight—expertly guided, well-timed, and incredibly rewarding. We spotted elephants, lions, giraffes, and an array of birdlife, with guides who were knowledgeable, passionate, and respectful of the environment. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Each meal felt personalized, with local ingredients and warm, attentive service. Whether it was a bush breakfast or dinner under the stars, every bite came with atmosphere and care. The staff were outstanding—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely committed to making our stay special. They struck a perfect balance between professionalism and warmth, making us feel both at home and immersed in the wild.

We recently stayed at Mopani for our first ever safari experience, and what a way to set the bar so high! The staff and service were all exceptional, as well as the actual game drives and luck of seeing all of the main animals within the first day due to our experienced ranger. We were spoilt with spectacular views of the animals right from our rooms, and the staff were so attentive to all of our needs and requests. We would highly recommend Mopani to all of our friends and family, and we would love to return again - a special shoutout and thank you in particular to: Riaz, Precious, William, Shakil, Barbara, Wilson, Mary, Mr Benson and the housekeepers and groundkeepers. Every day was filled with breathtaking moments — from seeing elephants and giraffes up close to watching a pride of lions lounging in the evening sun. Our guides were fantastic, sharing fascinating facts about the animals and the ecosystem, and always making sure we felt safe and comfortable. The landscapes were stunning, and the sunrise game drives were absolutely magical. Our lodge was cozy and beautifully set in the heart of nature, with delicious food and friendly staff who made us feel right at home.

We had an amazing time and the Mopani team took care of us every second of our stay! They ensured we experienced and witness the real wilderness in the midst and heart of South Luangwa! We also saw the Big 4 during our safaris and witnessed the lions making a live kill a few meters away from the Lodge. If you’re looking for the real African experience, South Luangwa is the place for you and Mopani Safari Lodge is the perfect choice for a comfortable and beautiful stay!

This location is amazing. First the staff, incredibly nice, friendly and very helpful. They took care of all our needs and went above and beyond on making sure we had a great experience. This was a business trip but I plan on brining my family next year. Food is amazing and the location and the scenery is spectacular. Rooms are spacious, clean and very well furnished. Just a great experience over all and looking forward to coming back.

I have never seen such a poorly run establishment. Its quite clear that their main objective is to keep costs as low as possible even at the expense of their clients. This is a problem of the owners. The employees are trying their best but they have owners who have no appreciation of their clients. I am pretty certain they are poorly paid. The restaurant is the worst I have ever seen. The manager called Shakeel has no idea what he is doing. We were served cold chicken burgers and our complaint fell on deaf ears. My son was served beef ribs that were spicy and he was unable to eat them. When I mentioned it to Shakeel he said "I will see what I can do tomorrow ". I was given cake that felt like rubber. The restaurant has no menu and you are served pretty much what they feel like. Breakfast 0/10, brunch 1/10 and dinner 3/10. I would never recommend that anyone stay at this establishment .

Amazing location adjacent to Luangwa National Park. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the view is worth a million dollars. The food was delicious as well. I highly recommend the Mopani Lodge if you want to see some of the best nature Africa has to see. I would love to return here in the future.

What an amazing place! It is luxurious while at the same time accommodating a rather wide variety of animals wondering in and around the grounds. We saw out our back window elephants, giraffes, wart hogs, baboons, bushbuck, leopard, hippos. It's always a thrill to look out your window and realize you're right in the middle of their territory! The food was excellent and the staff is incredibly professional and attentive. We were very impressed by Boniface's management of the lodge. Since the lodge is a very short distance from the South Luangwa gate, it is easy to do two game drives a day and this area of South Luangwa never seems to disappoint.

We are an Italian couple, coming to Zambia for vacation. We contacted Wilderness Horizon Safaris to organise a tour of the parks and the Victoria Falls. We really enjoied Mopani Lodge, the location is absolutely wonderful, the staff friendly and the manager, Mr Bornface Phiri, professional and supportive. When our luggage was not delivered by Proflight airline and remained in Lusaka, he helped us to manage the situation, providing us everything we need. A special mention to our guide in the game drives, Brian, very prepared and professional. For our last night they prepared a wonderful surprise bush dinner under the stars. We hope to come again to South Luangwa park and to Mopani Lodge in the so called emerald season, to enjoy again the wildlife and spot migratory birds. Highly recommended!
