The Malvern

I’d like to pass on some feedback about Caroline, who works on the cleaning team. She is absolutely exceptional always working so hard, polite, and genuinely helpful. It makes such a difference to the atmosphere here, and I really appreciate her efforts.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Malvern Spa Wildwood restaurant tonight, food was of excellent quality, service even better, Eleanor gave us her full attention, nothing was too much trouble.

This hotel is basically a spa with hotel rooms and should be advertised as such. There is no separate lounge area for overnight guests to sit and just relax and have a drink and there are no other facilities for non spa users. I was travelling to the area on business and the hotel I normally stay in was fully booked so I thought I would try the The Malvern it was convenient to the area I was travelling to. When I checked in I was asked if I would like to book for dinner in the restaurant and I said no that I had already eaten but that I would like to order a drink. They said that I would be fine to sit in the restaurant. So went to my room and dropped off my bag and when back down to the bar/restaurant area and ordered a pot of tea but was told that I would not be allowed to sit in the bar/restaurant area as it was after 6pm and you could only use that area if you were eating. They said I would be welcome to sit out in the spa area amongst all the people with robs etc. I passed on that and cancelled my order. I went back to my room to make a call and could not get anything to work as there are no phone connection. Using WiFi tried calling using WhatsApp but the connection just kept dropping out. Had to go outside and stand at the edge of the carpark to make a call. Mentioned to the reception staff about the pot of tea issue and not being allowed to sit in the bar/restaurant (who were lovely particularly one girl who I think was called Sunita she was brilliant) and they said they were surprised I had been told that. They offered to get me a complimentary drink but I said I might just go to Aldi over the road and buy something there as I would be made more welcome. The room was very tired and desperately needed renovating. Air conditioning was not at all effective but there was a decent Dyson fan. The stairs up to the rooms were particularly tatty and stained so needs a complete refurb. Breakfast was pretty good with a good choice of options and waiting staff were great. The one star I have given all goes to the staff the spa masquerading as a hotel who be no stars.

Excellent SPA conditions Staff was very kind and helpful. The SPA part looks very nice and cosy, nicely arranged, with nice features (water jets, multiple types of sauna, indoor and outdoor pool, etc.). The hotel room was comfortable, but with some dirty spots (especially at the toilet and bathtub). The phone signal and internet connection in the area it is extremely poor, and the hotel doesn't seem to fix the problem. If I wish to return, it would be just for spending some time in the SPA area.

Spent my birthday evening at malvern spa! Was a fantastic experience, brilliant treatment (back massage) superb experience in the bar, great food and drinks, staff are friendly and bubbly. Made my 30th one to remember.I will be returning, thank you.
