Beck Hall

We had an amazing time at Beck Hall, we stayed for three nights. The location was gorgeous, lots of great walks on the doorstep. The food was absolutely delicious, great choices on the menu. The rooms were clean. All the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Great ambience and lovely decor in the restaurant. Nice outdoor seating area in the garden by the beck. Overall I would highly recommend staying at Beck Hall!

A great location for an after walk relaxation next to a babbling brook. Beer though is very expensive (London prices). Leaving aside the outrageous prices for a drink the location can’t be bettered if the sun is shining. What it would be like in the rain (normal Malham weather) is debatable.

The beautiful location, the friendly welcome, the lovely room, great food, decent wine, the attentive and hard working staff, all go to make this a memorable weekend. Being a lifelong vegetarian it was special to be able to choose anything from the menu for the evening meal or from the breakfast buffet or breakfast menu. It is hard to pick a fault with an establishment that is obviously trying so very hard. So if I had to nit pick all I can come up with is a bathroom sliding door needed a little repair and the shower head in the bath had a puncture. These very minor things in no way takes away from the great job the staff and management are doing. Looking for somewhere special to stay? This is it, and vegan food too!

The location is amazing, our room overlooked the stream and was spotless. The vegan food is the best we have ever had for both breakfast and evening meal. The staff are sooo attentive, they really do make you feel special. This was our second stay and we can't wait to go back!

Wonderful visit to Beck Hall!! My daughter and I had a lovely time staying at Beck Hall recently. We came from Canada, making Beck Hall the main reason for visiting that part of England. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and the landscapes and hiking nearby are simply magnificent. It was such a perfect trip, we want to come back in a few years and do it again, but this time we'll bring my husband. He's not vegan, but the food is so delicious that I think he'll love it anyway. A lot of people that we met during our stay weren't vegan either. A lot were vegetarians, or just people who liked the food and wanted to stay there because of the beautiful hikes nearby. There was plenty of hot water in the room, fresh oat milk was supplied in a thermos everyday to have in our room if we wanted in our tea or coffee in our room. Delicious little truffles were in the room to welcome us. We went with the dinner meal plan that was included with the room. Definitely the way to go! Breakfast was also included, so that covered most of our meals. The proportions were generous, so honestly we didn't need to have as big a lunch as we did. We just wanted to try everything, but then we were a little overstuffed for dinner, so next time, I think we might just have a very small lunch. I do recommend the English Tea though! You can't pass that up. (We skipped lunch that day. Even so I was still so stuffed by dinnertime, I could only eat the yummy red pepper and tomato soup with a slice of sourdough bread by the dinner came around.) My favourite part of the tea were the scones, slathered in cream and jam. There were also delicious sandwiches (with the crusts cut off) olive tapenade and chickpea mash. Lots of pastries included, toffee cake etc. I'm sure I would have gained lots of weight if it weren't for the lovely hikes we went on everyday. A scene from Harry Potter's Deathly Hallows was filmed nearby at the top of Malham Cove. It's an extraordinary limestone formation that looks quite alien and ***** like. I can see why it was used in the movie. The Gordale Scar, formed by glaciers has towering cliffs of limestone and a waterfall.... breathtaking. Walking to Janet's Foss, you go through the most charming small wood. It was covered in flowering wild garlic when we went. All in all, this was one of the most perfect vacations I've ever been on. I recommend it as an excellent vacation spot.

Another enjoyable stay at the magical Beck Hall, Very comfortable bed and hot shower. The staff are friendly and very helpful, plus the food excellent. I was lucky enough to see the beautiful heron walking along the stream whilst I was having a coffee in the garden. One minor point was the garden and gazebo needed tidying up a bit.
