Me, my fiancée and our little one who is severely autistic, had a room booked in the Malden travel lodge for 12/07/2025 until the 13/07/2025. This was a spontaneous stay as we originally had plans to go into London to celebrate my fiancées 30th birthday but due to unforseen circumstances we could not go hence the stay in Malden. On arrival we were met with water dripping from the ceiling at the air con unit. Which provided wet flooring which wasn’t nice to start with. Our little One due to her autism tends to gravity toward windows and like to look out of them, we noticed that the window would open way more than it should and potentially she could fall out. She put her feet out numerous times and this was very stressful and scary for us. We went downstairs to ask for a key to lock the window so that no harm ever happened but we were met with rudeness and abruptness regarding this by the reception staff. We were told there is no keys to do this but on the lock there is a key hole in lock for a key to lock the window. We explained the situation and again was told nothing can be done about it. We asked to go to a different room in a different level as we were on the 3rd floor but again no locks for the window. Me and my fiancée did not sleep a wink due to the fact of fear and did not enjoy the hospitality or services given by travel lodge. We are very unhappy and I would like to know what you will do about this and what compensation you can provide because this experience was utterly disgusting and unfair. Best wishes Mr smith (Room 304 travel lodge Malden town centre)
