Having been to Melaka a few times, I am relatively familiar with the Touristy Jonker steeet area, and have earmarked a few interesting eateries to try on my visits there. The traffic is quite bad at times, so getting around on foot was my choice of commute. The location of Ohana House tick most of the boxes for me. 50 metres away is where my favorite Sin See Tai cafe is located, and a short walk to Bunga Raya area for my pohpiah in the day, and Longkang Si-hum at night. Cross the closest bridge and you will come to Lorong Jambatan where more cafes and Trendy Bars are located. Ohana House is tucked away in a quiet lane of shophouses and the rooms boast high ceiling with both fans and A/C , and since not all rooms come with ensuite bathrooms, it will be advisable to book early if you need this convenience. You will pay a refundable cash deposit for your stay so do be aware of this. Folks who are struggling with knee problems, make sure you make a request for a room on the ground floor - the stairs won't be too forgiving . There is a homely Chinese restaurant Mum Way Kitchen occupying the first floor where the Reception counter is and I highly recommend some healthy home style cooking here. Overall - Clean, Good value for money, and superb location. The TV channels are quite sad honestly but I am not here to watch TV so it doesn't really bother me.
