The Bell and Bottle

This as stated by others is an Indian restaurant who like to penny pinch. They give you the very very minimum they can and give dirty looks if you ask fir anything ie another drink with breakfast. Room was dirty and the mattress had clumps on it with a very thin bed sheet. It also had a foot rest but being tall I could not stretch out. Breakfast is grim. Don't order scrambled eggs unless you like powder, the bacon was reheated, the terrible coffee came with milk in it so you can't have it as you like it. Th toast was white or white, no cereal or fruit the sausage was cheap and nasty the mushrooms overcooked in cooking oil not butter. The room also smells of the night before ie cheap nasty Indian food Avoid avoid avod

Good value hotel room, but quirky Just off the A4 road, so road constantly in use. A great location to get to, although ever car in the carpark seemed to have to accelerate wildly to get up to 40MPH on leaving. The property has a huge car park, although only a single cars width passage to enter and leave. I never had a problem getting in or out. Unlike other reviewers, my room was nice, there was a remote for the TV, and milk, orange juice and water in the mini fridge. the mini fridge was not quiet, but was only competing against the road noise. The shower was warm enough, and quite powerful, but was cold unless the button was pushed in to get past the "normal range" The toilet light was movement activated, which was interesting when on the toilet or in the shower, as I was plunged into darkness. The staff were mostly friendly, although slightly scared looking. My evening meal was excellent, although not cheap. The breakfast was "continental", and was included, was self-service, but was boxes of cereal, milk, tea and coffee, some bread (for toasting), some yoghurts and some packaged croissants.

Brilliant Place was beyond expectations. Staff friendly and helpful. Requests were met quickly (hairdryer and more pillows) HOTEL Restaurant is Indian, we dont usually eat Indian but staff helped us navigate to a dish which proved worthy of partners taste buds. My only suggestion is - a run down on how to use shower would be appreciated. Room was slighlty noisy but as expected . Fan in the room was an added bonus and truly appreciated due to the heat . A true gem to find especially for the price. BREAKFAST INCLUDED. Thank you , if ever in the UK again, we would stay again ,maybe even for more than 1 night.

Amazing service This hotel is not five star, but the service was! The hotel is very nice location. Hotel was clean. The staff were amazing! I asked for extra towels they came within five minutes. We slept through breakfast, they brought it to our room. I would definitely stay here again

Not impressed, at all. Never again We phoned ahead to ask if someone would be available to drop our luggage before check in as we were out for the day and were told yes but when we arrived at 11am it was locked up and no one there. When we got back in the evening there was a party (of about 4 people) going on in the restaurant immediately below the rooms with a DJ and the music was ridiculously loud. We checked in and went upstairs to our room to find that the music was vibrating the walls. We went down to ask how long it would last and were told until 11pm. We said this was not appropriate and were ignored. The music went on until 12.15pm. The rooms are university-hall standard, at best. At check in they asked us to fill out a form for the included breakfast which we did and when we went down to breakfast we asked that they were checking the forms as my partner has food intolerances and were assured they had the information. However, when the food arrived it was completely different than what we ordered and random, my partner was unable to eat what was served. What was edible, was terrible.
