Hostal la Selecta

This hotel is quiet, clean but a bit basic. Staff are friendly. This is located on the sixth floor. It's really easy to find, just go from main street and go up in the lift. After 10 pm the night watchmen let's you in. The bed was comfy, only 4 stars as no kettle in the room so a bit too basic for the money we paid. I'd stay again.

Camere al sesto piano in via centrale con adcendore. Personale gentile, educato tiene le stanze come a casa propria. Acqua e birra a prezzi modici. Prezzo giusto considerando che a piedi e in poco tempo raggiungi i musei e altre attrattive.

The location couldn't be better! On the main street of the city, with all the main attractions, monuments and shops within walking distance, and next to a metro station. Mariela and Carlos were sweet the whole time, super attentive and helpful, they gave us lots of tips on places and getting around, always making us feel at home. The place is super simple, but super clean and comfortable. Perfect for those who spend the whole day on the street walking and only come back to shower and sleep. But the walls are paper thin so if you are lucky enough to have polite guests who know how to speak in a low tone after/before certain times and who don't "break down" the door when entering and exiting their respective rooms the night will be great. The shower water has great pressure, but the fact that the shower only has a curtain instead of glass or acrylic can lead to some incidents such as wetting the entire bathroom.

Es una pensión más que digna. Todo está muy limpio, hay baño individual en la habitación con dos camas, buena luz, ventilación con la ventana, una mesa en la que puedes estar con el ordenador, un armario, televisión... Si vas a Madrid buscando un lugar donde pasar la noche, con buenas condiciones higiénicas, sin ruidos y en pleno centro de la capital, éste es tu hostal. El personal de servicio muy amable, estuvieron pendientes por si necesitamos algo. Olvidé mi cepillo de dientes eléctrico y Mariela nos llamó por teléfono para decirnos que pasáramos a recogerlo cuando quisiéramos.
