Residence Inn Macon

I never write reviews but this one is needed and I hope and pray the owner listens. We are a Marriott properties family. We have stayed in all of their various hotels and resorts around the country and I will tell you this has been one of the worst visits to a Marriott property we have been to in a long time. Not because of the customer service from the staff but the quality of the product and service you’d expect from Marriott properties. First, both of our rooms rooms smelled bad. One of our two rooms had missing closet doors and the frames for the doors in both rooms are rusted. The sofa bed was terrible in both rooms. My son had to cover a sheet over the couch because of strange milky substances on it. I did not sleep well due to the condition but we were exhausted and stayed. We visited with family in town during the day and came back that night to find a German Cockroach in my son and daughter-in-law’s bed. This after a family member had warned us of a roach and rat infestation they had heard about regarding this property. We had enough and packed up and left for another hotel. We found another roach now in our stuff when we left and no, we didn’t have any coming into this place. I would request that the franchise owner of this property consider the poor accommodations and make the necessary changes. The positive is the staff working was very nice and working hard. I believe this is a problem on the owner. So I cannot in good conscience recommend this location to anyone until the necessary changes are made. For reference, we stayed here in 2020 and we did not have these issues so it’s been on a decline since then. The hotel desperately needs updating, good sanitation, maybe a pest control company to come in and bomb the hotel of rats and roaches and lots of TLC. I hope they will do whatever they need to to fix the problems here or that corporate gets involved to resolve this issues at hand.

Nice hotel for families We had a nice stay except that when I placed the reservation, I chose a king bed and almost certain I did but got a queen bed. When I asked they said that’s all they have…would be really nice if the offered king beds in suites. Overall the stay was good. Room was spacious, breakfast was good. Parking was close. Didn’t get use the pool so can’t comment on that. Closehotel with good amenities

Excellent property we’ve stayed here several times passing through. Very quiet tucked away from the highway, lots of food options within a couple minute drive, staff is wonderful, rooms super quiet and spacious.
