I been staying at The Bluebird Motel for years and it’s always immaculately clean, great service and the best bang for your buck. Recently it’s super busy here in Machias due to the insane popularity of the Downeast Sunrise Trail. It’s a epic rail to trail multi-recreational Use trail for ATV’s , hikers and gravel and mountain bikers so it bring people in droves in the summer to experience its beauty. Lucky for me they had one room left for just one night, but the wonderful young lady at the motel office asked me if there were any cancellations she would call me. And sure enough she called me and I got the last available room, it made my day! Especially there were no rooms available anywhere in the immediate area.

We've stayed at the Bluebird Motel on two occasions, for three nights each time. The rates are quite reasonable, and while probably an "older" motel, everything about it, inside and outside, is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. It's well outside the town business center. There are three long units, and rooms in the back two where we've stayed are situated away from the highway and traffic noise. Our room was plenty big enough for two, with two comfortable beds, two upholstered chairs, a sizeable desk, large workspace, and storage drawers. Also, there's a microwave and good-sized minifridge. The bathroom is small but quite adequate in size and very clean. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Finally, a plus: right next door is a handy gas station with a restaurant and mini-mart. Yes, we'll certainly stay there again.

Excellent! The office staff are very nice. The price is the best around. Parking right in front of your own door. The amenities in the room are all that anyone needs. And a Keurig coffee maker! We just stayed at a Hampton Inn in New Hampshire last week($$$$$) and it had one of those cheap little coffee makers that you put the little coffee bag into a tray.🥴 No thanks. We bring our own K cups. The room and bath are very clean. And the king bed and pillows are very comfortable. Tom’s Mini Mart & Family Restaurant are right next door with excellent food! Especially breakfast! The Bluebird is in a good location for surrounding attractions. Bring your passport and go to Campabello Island and visit the summer home of the Roosevelts! We are definitely coming back to spend more time!

Absolutely amazing place to stay. My family was super comfortable, the staff was very helpful and polite. As soon as you walk into your room you feel at home. The location was great, easy access to food, dollar general, cigaret shopper, grocery store. Motel is right off of 182 so super easy to find.

Do not stay here if you are elderly or handicapped. My 75 yr old mother had fallen at home and went to the hospital with a knee injury. Upon release I put her in the handicapped room at this motel so I could keep an eye on her as she healed. Because of her injury she was unable to make it to the bathroom in time and made a mess on the floor. So THE MOTEL TOLD ME SHE WAS NOT WELCOME TO RENT A ROOM THERE EVER AGAIN! Thank you so much for adding insult to an already ashamed and embarrassed elderly handicapped person. I wish there was a rating lower than one star for this establishment

Older motel but nicely updated. Microwave and small fridge in the room. Beds are comfy. Pet friendly but a pretty stiff per night charge. As an older motel the rooms are on the small side and the bathroom is minuscule with only a small glass shelf for your stuff. But it is clean, quiet and well maintained. Check in was friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking. We have stayed here multiple times and will continue to come back.

Good location, easy check in, very nice lady at the desk. Place was very clean and well stocked. Had everything we needed. Price was reasonable. Pretty quiet even though it was on a main road. And the store/restaurant next door had great breakfasts!! Will stay here again.

The ceilings are 7ft and the room can appear claustrophobic because of the excessive furniture. An oversized desk doesn't need to be in the room. The fixtures are dated and every outlet appears to be used. The mini refrigerator doesn't get your drinks very cold. The hot water can be scolding (be careful if you have small children). The weather stripping didn't seal the door well and the outside could be seen. You will hear traffic noise coming through the walls at all times. The AC works well. Proximity to Tom's is a plus.
