We had a fantastic experience staying at Pullman Maamutaa, and there are plenty of positives to highlight. One of the standout perks was the continuation of all-inclusive benefits even after checkout—a rare and thoughtful gesture among Maldivian resorts. Additionally, the hotel offered access to a lounge at Malé airport, which was a very nice touch and made the departure process much more comfortable. The staff deserve a special mention. They were always warm, smiling, and attentive, making our stay all the more enjoyable. The Hub team, in particular, ensured we were well taken care of while relaxing by the pool, keeping our drinks topped up at all times. Another lovely touch was the champagne served to guests—this small but classy detail really elevated our experience. The live music each evening was another highlight. The singer was wonderful, taking guest requests and even learning a song in German, which was an impressive and thoughtful effort! Her performances created a great atmosphere during and after dinner. While our stay was memorable, there are a few areas that could be improved to make the experience even better. We noticed some attempts to organize activities, but they could be expanded and better executed. For instance, a water aerobics session started with music but fizzled out after trainers failed to engage guests and eventually left. Adding options like a film night or a hookah bar at Saffron could diversify the activities and break up the daily routine. Although we loved the singer’s performances, introducing more variety in the music genres could bring freshness. A live band or even a themed Latino music night would add novelty and excitement. We were also disappointed to find the golf simulator out of order during our stay, as it’s such a unique feature and could have added to our enjoyment. Mélange, the main buffet restaurant, had some standout dishes, particularly the Maldivian, Indian, and Southeast Asian cuisines. However, there was room for improvement in variety and execution. Some dishes, particularly the meats, were slightly dry, and the vegetables lacked seasoning. Additionally, the availability of fresh vegetable options was limited. Phat Chameleon, the vegan restaurant, was underwhelming. While the menu had creative ideas, the execution fell short. Many dishes were overly oily, and some had peculiar flavors. The risotto, for instance, had an unexpected “Pop Rock” effect, which felt out of place. Souq Oven, the Italian restaurant, stood out for its beautiful location over the water and its elegant interior, which created a lovely dining atmosphere. However, the food didn’t quite live up to its potential. The menu offered exciting options, but the execution was slightly disappointing. The ambiance, thankfully, somewhat compensated for the lackluster dishes. Pullman Maamutaa offers a wonderful stay with excellent service, thoughtful touches, and a beautiful setting. With some improvements in activity planning
