Monterey Beach Hotel

Just left MONTEREY BEACH HOTEL and am writing this in the coach heading home. We had a super weekend break that ticked all the boxes. The hotel interior is big and has more than sufficient seating in the lounges. Outside, plenty of comfy garden chairs and tables which we used every day. Our room was basic but the bed was very comfortable and the shower good (once you got the h/c balance right!). The food was exceptionally good and varied, the Bar well stocked and good prices. The staff were extremely attentive, some with a droll sense of humour. There was entertainment each night which was well received. This review is not coloured by the fact that we won several lines of Bingo and one full house! Oh and we won both Quizzes. (Obviously we are Scottish!)

I went to this hotel with Alph Travel for a 5 day break. The decor of this hotel was very good. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The dinners were very good, the only down side was when we got there, we had to order all the meals for the 4 nights, how do you know what you will feel like on Wednesday. They were cleaning the tables as other guest were waiting for their meals. It was a very slow service, it took an hour and a half for some people to get their meal. The Breakfast was served in seperate rooms down stairs in the basement, the breakdfast was 1 slice of bacon, 1 sausage, 1 fried egg tomatoes and beans. No hash brown, fried bread or mushrooms.

Literally just returned from a coach holiday with KM Barnsley Great company well organised from start to finish Hotel a little dated in places but spotless everywhere Dropped on some good weather And would definitely return good value for money Staff all lovely and work hard Had some really lovely people with us and would love to meet them again Special mention to the Bingo ladies (you know who you are ) Won nearly every night 2 lovely ladies Looking now for our next trip
