Hotel Royal Luzern

Outstanding room. Comfortable clean and tidy. Coffee machine, teas and water provided. Comfy bed and lovely shower. Breakfast was extra and expensive but it was delicious and it is Switzerland after all. Fresh breads, bacon, eggs , fruit etc

I booked a stay at Royal Hotel Luzern but had to leave immediately upon arrival. The property is built on a steep cliff and is not accessible at all for someone with mobility challenges — something that was never disclosed before booking. A member of my party is handicapped, and it was unsafe and impossible for us to stay. Despite these circumstances, the hotel refused to refund our money. We even opened a dispute with Citi, and the only reason the funds have not been returned is because the hotel is refusing to cooperate. This is deeply disappointing and unprofessional. Any responsible hotel should disclose such serious accessibility limitations, and at the very least issue a refund when a guest is physically unable to reach or use the property. I urge others to be very cautious when booking here. We are now escalating this matter with the Lucerne Tourism Board, Swiss consumer protection authorities, and disability rights organizations in Switzerland. A hotel that shows this little concern for accessibility and fairness should not be recommended until they correct their practices. There was also no AC and it was the hottest day in Switzerland... cherry on top!

Decent traditional hotel, especially to avoid the tourist traps of old town. Had own balcony with great views of Lake. Easy public transport into town and around lake side. Helpful staff

The service was amazing and everyone was so friendly, especially Arrot (please forgive the spelling who worked the front desk when we checked in. The view was amazing. We enjoyed sitting on the lower balcony for a drink and in the mornings we drank coffee on our balcony from our room. The breakfast buffet had lots to offer as well and was a great option when in a hurry.

This is a lovely hotel with great views of the lake. It may be difficult to find and walking to it with suitcases would be hard. We stayed in the triple room. It is a small space but worked fine for us. It tales just a few minutes to reach the main train station.

Great views, and some really nice staff. Reasonably priced. Hotel was quite dated, rooms in need of some modernising. No air conditioning.
