hotel service is perfect. The view is phenomenal for Lakeview penthouse rooms. There are restaurant and bar by the lake, but a room service to the room and have dinner at balcony is even better. Ordering room service can be done via tablet, very convenient. But remember there are service charges for room service. Sadly is the room we checked-in was without a bathtub. Will consider to get the outdoor bathtub room next time.

As as Swiss, I never travelled much inside Switzerland. I am usually travel around in Asia, like Japan, Thailand, Taiwan. So I was seriously shocked how low quality the Swiss Hotels are. Besides this I was also in Interlaken, and have to say the hotels are mere Motel standard at a price tag from 300-500$ for 15m² not even clean. And it's not only this Hotel, many others around I had Lunch or Dinner are in such bad condition But to the "Art Deco" Montana... The best part is at the beginning. Reaching the entrance by a Cogwheel Car, is great, the lobby is nice as well and the terrace with lake view is beautiful. But then, comes the issue, the price changed, the day of the check in was 180$ cheaper for the same room than when I booked it. We didn't get any compensation which i didn't expect i Switzerland anyways, still a bit disappointed. But ok... off to the hotel room. The pictures prepared me to not have too much expectations but, the reality is just so heartbreaking worse. I stayed in cheap hotels for 80$ in China or Thailand with same standard. The Dyson Hairdryer didn't save the impression. We were the first 30 minutes really depressed, sitting on the bed full of regrets going to lucerne. It's all so cheap made for that price. Well, we recovered and left the hotel for travel. But bottom line, the cheapest hotels in Switzerland are barely worse than the range from 400-600$ like the Montana. If wanna luxury, better opt for those instagram famous Hotels for 1200$ + Anything else is all the same low standard. Side Note: In Switzerland 3-4 Stars Hotel Minibar is not free.

A great hotel situated just at the hill, with a great view of the lake. Can be a tad expensive, but the hotel is high tech and the rooms are comfortable, warm and feels like home. Love the duck in the bathroom too!

Had a celebratory birthday dinner here in March 2025. Food and wine pairings were amazing and views were breathtaking ( we had a table by the flor to ceiling window)! Customer service here was the best that I’ve had in a long time and I felt that our waitress contributed to making the evening extra special. We then went to an adjoining Jazz bar for some Swiss cocktails - which made the evening, even more magical.

The new interior design by Ina Rinderknecht is absolutely stunning, bringing a modern and elegant touch to the hotel. A special thanks for all the thoughtful touches you arranged for my wife’s birthday. She was truly moved, and it made our stay even more memorable. Your attention to detail and warm hospitality really make all the difference. We can’t wait to return soon! Thank you again for everything.

Sehr nette Mitarbeiter, sehr gutes Frühstück, tolle Seesicht mit einem Zimmerupgrade. Was will man mehr. Sehr zu empfehlen, sehr gute Adresse.

Das Hotel Montana ist einzigartig. Die Lage - wir waren noch dazu im 5.Stock - hoch über dem herrlichen See, ein Traum. Bei schönstem Frühlingswetter auf der Terrasse im Jacuzzi, einmalig. Auch die beiden Zimmer mit Verbindungstür waren perfekt für unsere Familie - zusammen mit dem Junior und doch Privatspäre! Alles großzügig und wunderschön Art Déco eingerichtet! Empfehlenswert: das Rosenbuquet („Rosenbox“) von Unique Roses, kann man dazu buchen. Wie wir dann erst erfahren haben, hält es, obwohl echte Rosen, bis zu 3 Jahren!!! Und so steht es jetzt bei uns zu Hause auf dem Esstisch und erinnert uns perfekt und mit großer Wärme für ganz lange Zeit an das Hotel Montana in Luzern! Eine lohnende Investition der Erinnerung! Auch das Abendessen im Restaurant Scala ein wunderschönes Erlebnis, an manchen Abenden mit Livemusik, Piano und Geige, in wunderschöner Einrichtung im Großen Speisesaal und Ausblick über den See aus riesigen Fenstern…Frühstück sehr gut, reichlich von allem, frisch und lecker, Mitarbeiter äußerst freundlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam, aber zurückhaltend, unsere Gewohnheiten begleitend (und am nächsten Morgen noch wissend), allererste Schule! Toll! Auch das mehrgängige Menü am Abend mit Weinbegleitung hervorragend zusammengestellt und bestens beraten von sehr gut geschultem Personal. Wir waren jeden Abend in den besten Händen bei unterschiedlichen Mitarbeitern…..alle waren super. Auch die Speisen, die wir probieren durften, durchgängig ein Erlebnis! Optisch und für den Gaumen! Wir können wirklich nichts bemängeln oder irgendwo einen Abstrich machen, es war alles sehr gut. Parkplatzsituation für uns super gelöst, wir kamen an, mit unserem E Auto, haben sofort einen Parkplatz vor der Haustür bekommen mit Ladestation, was will man denn noch mehr! Sehr empfehlenswert, übrigens auch der alemannische Fasching am Rosenmontag und Faschingsdienstag in Luzern, eine Reise wert, ein echtes Erlebnis auch für Leute wie wir, die dem Fasching normalerweise nicht so nahe stehen. Die fantasievollen Kostümen und Gruppenparaden nach Schweizer Tradition sind ein echtes Erlebnis, das einmal im Leben live zu sehen! Und darüber hinaus ein Muss, die Seefahrt auf dem Vierwaldstättersee zur Rütli Wiese, der Wiege der Schweiz und dem Schwur Platz! Nebst Schillerdenkmal. Erhebend und auch landschaftlich wunderschön. Jetzt in der Vorsaison auch ganz leer, wir waren fast alleine dort und konnten so richtig eintauchen in diese Legende!

We love this hotel, it was our second stay. The view is unmatched, and the overall property is just beautiful overlooking the lake Lucerne. We had room service and dined at two of their restaurants, we were happy with everything.

Das Art Deco Montana und das Restaurant Scala gehören zu den besten Adressen in der Schweiz. Absolut zu empfehlen, ob für private Reisen oder auch geschäftliche Meetings / Events.
