"The boss, who speaks good english, picked me up from the Gubeikou station, we stopped to buy some snacks and water and then he took me to the start of Panlongshan trail. He told me directions to get to Jinshanling. Pretty straightforward, hard to go wrong, just follow the spraypaint and ribbons. After sunset I texted him and he picked me up at Jinshanling. Very delicious home cooked dishes, both dinner and breakfast, huge portions, cold beer! The room was big, comfy and modern, great mattress and bedding. The bathroom was big and modern with different controls for a nice shower. In the morning (4am) the boss arranged local transport to get to and from Jinshanling for sunrise. Don't miss it, the sun rising over an empty wall; hardly anyone around. The hotel is just a 5 minutes drive from the ticket station. I wish i could give more stars. Great memories! The combination of Panlongshan and Jinshanling is like a 100 times better then Badaling. Very easy to organise with the train and overnight stay. And this is the best hotel to do it."

"Hotel is amazing and is in front of the gate and is really helpful. Unfortunately for the fact was low season, the cleanliness of the room wasn’t great and I’ve found at least 8 stinks bugs. It wasn’t a huge problem but there were some already dead so it means that the camera was left like this for long time. For the rest everything was amazing! Dinner and Break was a great surprise for the quality!"

"A 10-minute drive from Jinshanling Great Wall. It was a bit dark on the way there at night, but the road conditions were fine. The room was great, and the ground floor had a lot of character. There's a small courtyard outside the door and free parking."

"The property is very close to the Great Wall section (it is only a 15-20 minute walk). The rooms were very nice, clean, spacious, and quiet. The property has all the basic amenities that one may need, including a big parking space right in front of the hotel. There is not a lot to do around the property but the staff was extremely sweet and cordial and you get to see a glimpse of rural life transitioning into the tourist economy slowly. The restaurant at the property is wonderful and I highly recommend asking and trying all the local specialities. The meals were wonderful and the people who run the property are wonderful and kind locals, who sourced very fresh and delicious produce, clearly reflecting in the food you get. My friend and I stayed here to take a relaxing day before touring both the Eastern and Western stretch of the Great Wall. We could easily get up early and enter the complex to see the sunrise. Beside the Great Wall, I don't see much that one could do. The hotel property was also very kind to drop us to the Gubei Railway station on our way back, making the way back really easy and comfortable."

"I cannot recommend this farmhouse enough! If you are visiting the Jinshanling Great Wall, staying here is an absolute must. The location is perfect, featuring a beautiful rooftop terrace where you can sit and look directly at the Great Wall in total peace. The room itself was modern, and clean, with a great AC, but set right in the middle of a charming, authentic farm. But the absolute highlight of my stay was the host family. The hospitality is unmatched. The Owner Lady of the house cooked some of the most delicious, massive, and authentic meals I’ve had in China, and she went completely out of her way to make sure I was comfortable and well-fed. The food was also unbelievably affordable. The Owner truly went above and beyond for me. When I was struggling to find a reasonably priced car back to Beijing, he spent hours late at night helping me on WeChat, making sure I wasn't overcharged by local drivers. He eventually helped me find a cheap, highly scenic train route back to the city and personally drove me to the local station. They treated a solo foreign traveler like absolute family. If you want a genuine, heartwarming, and frictionless experience at the Great Wall, book this place. 太好吃了 and 谢谢 to the amazing hosts!""

"The receptionist at the front desk had a bad attitude and told me that the hotel closes at 10:30 pm. This is the first time I heard that the hotel also restricts entry and exit times at night. They said that the hotel is actually a room converted from the sales office, and the mattress is very, very hard! Breakfast only has porridge, eggs and steamed buns, and there are basically no surrounding facilities. It’s not worth it."
