Hotel Victoria

What a Great hotel, located on the seafront , when we arrived parking was easy and the staff were very welcoming we had a drink from the well stocked bar and our room with a sea view was excellent we had dinner which was a limited menu as it was Easter Sunday but I had the crab salad special and it was amazing!

From the moment my booking phone call was answered by a friendly and helpful lady receptionist I guessed we were on a winner. We sure were, the hotel is situation in a perfect location providing outstanding views of the Lowestoft seaside. All the charming staff were very welcoming and extremely cheerful during out three night stay. The decor of the hotel is excellent with a very clean bedroom and communal areas. Our visit was to celebrate my wife's birthday and the afternoon tea was enhanced with table decorations and candles on the cakes. Also mothers day was celebrated with an excellent special Sunday lunch served up by a fabulous team of waiters and waitresses led by Adam, the owner and general manager. The high standard of food was enjoyed at breakfast, lunch and dinner. A great stay at a very reasonably priced hotel, we will return, thank you guys it could not have been better for us.

Absolutely horrendous. Menus wrong and miss printed. Charging £20+ for a main course with shop bought coleslaw, onion rings barely battered and not single sized chip on the plate. One of the worst value for places to eat in the town, would highly recommend people think twice before wasting money eating here. £50 for two meals and one side absolutely scandalous.

Just when you think everything is perfect the food and customer service here gets better and better. I came down for a two nights stay and took advantage of meeting a couple of friends for a seniors by the sea lunch on Tuesday. Such good value for money! I had things to do for the rest of the day but used the restaurant that evening so I was one of the first to try their new menu. Inspired! The scallop and king prawn gratin starter was to die for. As I was still feeling a bit full from lunch I had the caramelised onion Risotto for main and enjoyed that with a glass of house red, which to my delight was a decent merlot. I went to bed duly satisfied and was soothed to sleep to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. I awoke refreshed to a spectacular sunrise and was spoiled by a perfect eggs Benedict for breakfast. Nobody does eggs Benedict like the hotel Victoria. I had some paperwork that I worked on back in my room with the spectacular sea view then as I was teased by the restaurant menu the night before I had a bar snack for lunch (tasty cod bites with tartare sauce) and a lovely cappuccino to leave room for an evening meal, before a quick stroll around and completion of my paperwork. The peaceful atmosphere was conducive to my productivity. For my last evening I had soup of the day (French onion) which had such a depth of flavour followed by skate in a burre blanc sauce and chose to have it with triple cooked chips. I felt too full for a desert but instead enjoyed a liquor coffee with amaretto. I retired to my room suitably sated. As I so enjoyed the eggs Benedict on my first morning I opted for the same dish from the varied breakfast menu before a relaxed check out and hitting the road home. I did have a bowl of prunes and grapefruit with a glass of orange juice to start and some nice toast and marmalade with coffee afterwards. I cannot wait for a return visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay in your hotel. The staff were all amazing, our room was very clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. The view from our windows was beautiful and it was lovely to be able to access the promenade so easily. We will definitely be returning!
