Aguamar Apartamentos, Los Cristianos Downtown

Hotel is very average and there are much better. The rooms are tired and worn out, kitchens damaged and old, bathrooms the same. Food is dire, smallest selection I have seen and very minimal choice and only warm if it’s just been put out, also no pudding only tinned fruit and ice cream, sometimes a cake cut into a thousand tiny pieces if you’re lucky. Also the first hotel I’ve been to where the cleaners have Wednesday and Thursday off so no service on those days, sofa bed is like lying in a bag of bones and no entertainment and no bar when the pool closes. Pool area is nice and you can usually get a sunbed although you have to pay for umbrella and sunbed cushions (nobody has them). Quite noisy from early in the morning so don’t expect a lie in.

Piège à touriste, vous réservez un lit deux places on vous colle deux lits simple, vous demandez deux serviettes de plus on vous le refuse, bref de meilleurs hôtels sont proposés sur l’île sans aucun doute. Fermeture de la piscine 1h avant l’heure indiquée… Cherchez mieux ailleurs

We checked in at 3pm and the service at reception was polite quick and with all the information that we needed. Also a very quirky area to sit and chill... We booked a two bedroom apartment and was allocated 420 which was a corner room. When we got in the room the first bedroom was a double and the second room was a twin both with great wardrobe space ,Full bathroom and the living area had a single sofa with a pull out bed with 4 chairs around a big table the kitchen had all that was needed to do a self catering holiday. The balcony had a table with 4 chairs and a view of the pool overlooking some of Los Cristianos. Cleanded everyday and beds were comfortable and were giving loads of towels and toliet paper and if you needed anything Reception will help you. The roof terrace is a cracking suntrap overlooking the Funchal strip. The pool area is lovely and spacious this opens at 10am with beds put out then you do pay for a Matress nut the beds on the roof terrace were so more comfortable. The pool bar was ample and the outside and indoor toilets were also clean. I really think this is a fantastic 3 star central location. I recived a bottle of cava on my birthday which was a lovely suprise and very welcoming. The accomodation is opp the Funcal strip with bars and a great Fish and Chippy open till 11pm but i loved the outside terrace were closed at 11pm so it was a quiet hotel at night.. 10 min walk to the church.. 5 min walk from the bus station and about 15 to the main beach. We walked for miles in this area and loved that Los Cris has so many places to eat on your doorstop ... Do not look at the bad reviews as this place really was very very good

We did a last minute booking here via Easyjet App. It was such a great place to stay (self catering) We had a room overlooking the pool (I think they all do actually) room was spacious and well stocked for self catering. We only used the fridge and kettle. Nice size balcony with table and chairs and an airer. Beds were comfortable with plenty of hanging space and a fan. The staff were so friendly and the whole complex is immaculately cleaned every day. The pool was lovely with mountain views. Free wifi in the pool bar area and a reading room next to bar where you can get the free wifi too. We took beach towels so didn't hire the lounger cushions. The pool bar snacks and drinks were very good value. Relaxed on the roof terrace a couple of times, very nice and peaceful up there! Also restaurants and bars plus couple of mini supermarkets for milk etc very close. 15/20 min walk to the beach. We loved our stay here and would defo go back. Thank you!

We were allocated what must’ve been the worst room in the entire hotel which was galling as we had obviously paid the same as all other Jet2 customers. However once we had spoken to our rep who then conversed with hotel staff, we were moved the following day to a lovely room. All reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean. Didn’t use the restaurant, or pool as we can’t be bothered with the morning sprint for sunbeds, so can’t comment on those, made use of the roof terrace though which was nice and peaceful. All i would say is if you’re allocated room 401 (and I presume 101,201,301 are the same) refuse it
