Really good value hotel at East Midlands Airport. I stayed here for one night due to its proximity to the airport. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are fairly basic, but this is a Holiday Inn Express, not a luxury hotel. The bed was comfortable and there was a hairdryer, kettle, iron and a few other features in the room. Wifi was fast and stable which is a big plus. The food is the restaurant was fairly decent and it was certainly quite busy the evening I was there. Breakfast is included for all rooms and there were plenty of hot and cold options with juices and coffees etc. OK it won't win any Michelin stars, but I was happy for the price. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk to the terminal or there is a bus stop right outside which gets there in a few minutes.

Booked this stop-over with trip.com on Christmas day. Just awful from the start! Although I had paid for the booking online, on arrival, I was told that it was just a reservation and that I needed to confirm payment with my credit card again, which I did. I was charged again. I requested a refund the following morning. I was then told that I needed to pay another £10 for parking for the night - nearly 25% extra on the total cost of the room. There was no mention of this parking extra on the Trip.com website when I booked. The first two rooms that I was allocated had sofa beds made up so you couldn't sit at the desk or get to the window to shut the curtains. This could not be fixed as there were no room service staff. The third room had 2 light bulbs that didn't work and cobwebs on the ceiling - I was tired, I took the room. I was only offered food from the limited night menu - it was 6pm - there were no kitchen staff. Having to sort out the problems that I experienced put the two staff members under extreme pressure - I was not the only guest. I support the fact that staff had been given time off for Christmas, this is commendable IHG, but you can't do this at the expense of your customer and your brand. I strongly doubt that I will use either Holiday Inn or Trip.com again

We booked a three-night stay to visit relatives living nearby. We booked it because it was the cheapest place we could find for our family of four (even including the price of parking). It's a nice play to stay for a few nights. The lobby and restaurant area are big and pleasant enough that you can spend some time there hanging out away from the hotel room. The breakfast, for a budget hotel, is excellent. English breakfast-style food and some continental options. My complaint would be that there isn't enough space in the buffet area for all the guests, and the pancake machine, while a highlight, always had a queue because it takes a long time. Also it would be nice if there was more fresh fruit. But for a breakfast that's included in the price - it is really very good. We stayed in a family room, with 2 adults and 2 children. It's a squeeze as you would expect. I think if you can, pull the sofa bed back into a sofa during the day to make more space to spread out. Also, take advantage of the lobby area. There's also a lovely viewing area about 5 minutes away on foot, and it's really nice to sit and watch planes there. We would definitely come again. The price is good, and the location is really interesting for a few nights. Possibly I'd consider booking two double rooms rather than a family room if we were coming for more than one night, just to have a bit more space.

Absolutely fantastic stay before and after arriving back off holiday to Florida room great comfort great staff great food great all in all great experience will definitely return thank you and just to add the prices were also very budget proof for everything from the stay to the parking no faults at all

I was very pleased with the reception we received as we checked in very late due to flight delay. We were very comfortable, all clean & fresh linen. Had a nice breakfast before we left.
