Everglades Hotel

A great location for Derry/Londonderry, with ample parking. Friendly staff and good food, library bar and grill restaurant have the same menu. My room was a refurbished room (ground floor) which was much better than a room I had the week before which was dated (2nd Floor). Although amenities are limited I enjoyed my stay here.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at The Everglades Hotel. The hotel has a lot to commend it. It's bedrooms, the Grill Room, lounge, the Library Bar, and location. The food was very good and there is an excellent choice for breakfast. The staff in the Grill Room & Library Bar were most helpful & friendly. However there are a few issues which I should mention. I need to use a CPAP machine each night and as there was no socket near the bed I went to reception to ask for an extension lead. After over a 40 minute delay I went to reception again only to be informed that both leads were in use, but a couple of minutes later a lead was delivered to my room! The hotel's website states that Superior Rooms are provided with slippers - not so! When I asked at reception I was told that they DO NOT supply slippers - 'miss information'. If I had known that I would have packed my own. Also there was no Guest Information Folder in the bedroom. This is the first hotel I've stayed in where no folder was provided. Nothing about the hotel (mealtimes, how to call reception etc.) or of the local area or Derry itself - quite an oversight. The bottled water in the bedroom states that 'once opened it should be kept refrigerated' but there was no fridge in the room. The furniture in the lounge needed dusted and the carpet in the Grill Room needed vacuumed. Apart from the issues mentioned I would still recommend the hotel.

One of the best experiences I’ve had in Derry for food. We’re from the town itself, and always thought that the hotel was a bit too upmarket for us, but honestly, the staff were amazing! No difference was made, and both myself and my wife were made to feel like a million dollars! The food was outstanding, and even though we just went to the library bar (we thought pub grub) we were treated as if we were in a Michelin star restaurant! Finn, one of the servers was an absolute delight and the rest of the girls too were so polite and so friendly! We’ll definitely be making this a regular thing! Staff are a credit!
